I have had this iron now for about six months, it was on sale on Amazon and I paid £38 for it which is a lot less than the normal £70 rrp for the product and I must say I'm really impressed with the iron. The one I have is not the same as the one in the picture as it does not had a dial from which the temperature is set rather it has a series of five pre set levels and you scroll through these using a button which is set above the buttons and is halved with the top half being the up button and the lower half is the down button.
This is a top quality iron that is able to cope with a wide ranghe of demands, the maximum temperature is for linens, most of the time I use the next level down which is ideal for cotton clothing and other fabrics. There are a number of features that I like about this iron.
When it has reached the preset temperature then the iron gives off a signal so you know that it is ready to use, if it is left inactive for a while then it will again give off a signal and drop down to the lowest setting in auto shut off to conserve the steam, one you either lift it up or press the button it returns to the original temperature automatically and again signals when it is ready.
It has a nice long cable to allow you a good range to your ironing without having to be right next to the plug and it is a solid build and very stable when standing upright. The water tank is very easy to fill and this is helped by the well designed filling bottle.
Living in a hard water area I like the self clean function which is very easy to use and very effective, I clean mine every two weeks or after five sessions and it only takes a few minutes to action.
The iron glides over clothing and is heavy enough to ensure clean creases and smooth ironing however it is not so heavy that it gets awkward if you have a big load to do, it is a big enough hot plate without being too much and the steam is strong and consistent with different options for the delivery of steam or an extra spray of water.
A top iron and one that I certainly recommend.
I recently bought this iron as the cat knocked my ther iron off the side and smashed it! I didn't want to pay too much for an iron and found this to be good value in the sale at £30. The iron is quite heavy which I like and it also produces a lot of steam which makes ironing a lot easier although I have had to turn the steam down on occasion! It heats up very quickly and the max temperature does get very hot. it also cools quite quickly which is handy when ironing various different garments. The self clean button seems to work, I press this once a week and so far haven't noticed any lime scale build up. The water and steam shot buttons are both very good although I don't think there is much need for the steam! The only dislike I have about this item is that the lead is too short, I am having to use an extension cable. I wouldn't let this put you off though as it is a great product and great value for money.
