Advantages: Glides over clothes and has three heat settings
When it comes to doing househould chores like the ironing and washing, myself and my wife both chip and do our own bits in the house. However, whenever possible I try to avoid the ironing unless it's really needed as it's a very tedious duty to be honest with you. If you are going to a bit of ironing the last thing you want is an iron with little power that is a struggle to use. Instead, you want one that is very powerful and literally glides over the clother with little of no effort on your part. Our existing Iron was on it's last legs earlier this year so my wife went out and bought this Morphy Richards Turbo Steam Iron and it's fantastic. We own a couple of electrical items from this manufacturer and have found them to be reliable and robust. This iron cost us around £29.99 and is great value it seems.
The iron we bought looks quite trendy and is white and purple in colour. It has 2000w of power and also an important part of it is that it's not overly heavy and weighing you down. It has a non-stick hot plate that glides over clothes and I have found that it smooths out creases etc. with not much pressure. Plus it has the steam feature to aid the ironing process. I have to admit I love the non-stick plate as there's nothing worse than an iron sticking to the clothes and burning them and in the process ruining the iron too.
You have the option of choosing between three different heat settings with this turbo iron which gives some flexiblity when using it. In addition there is also a linen setting. In regards to the steam and how much comes out there is a slider switch that resides on the handle that you can move to adjust that. I tend to not use much steam but it's each to their own which is why the iron gives you the option.
If your iron has packed up or is on it's last legs then you could do worse than this iron that is fantastic and makes the chore of ironing a lot easier which is what you want I'm sure.
Summary: Great iron that is well worth buying
