Morphy Richards 40685
Advantages: Non stick, lightweight, 2yr guarantee
Being the sort of guy who doesn't like to appear to shabby (in other words the company I work for has a dress code!), it is necessary from time to time to actually Iron. And at least give the idea I xcan do it. And i'm eternally grateful to Morphy Richards for their help in one of the biggest cons of the past decade in making me look presentable. I'm useless at ironing. No ifs, buts or maybes, i'm plain crap. And yet, put the Morphy Richards Turbo Steam 40685 in my hand, and magic happens!!
For all the build up I've given it, it doesn't seem to be any different to any other iron on the market. Made from mostly plastic and coloured a glossy white mixed with purple see thru parts. It is electric, plugged into the wall via a 2m power cord which gives it the 2000w needed. It has a 400ml storage tank which is located in easy view under the purple plastic. Filling is accomplished through a hole in the nose which resides under a lock tight cap. The water is used to produce at least 35g of steam or a minimum of 90g spray in order torelax your item and remove even the toughest of creases.
It has vertical steam for pressing items which are hanging upand is anti drip ensuring that if you use it before it reaches required temperature, it won't dribble all over your clean clothes. Also it has anti limescale feature for a longer life but perhaps its most important feature is the non-stick ceramic soleplate, which does exactly what it says.
And it is that last item which I find really ensures the usefullness, at least to me. Coupled with the lightweight manufacturing, it ensures two things. One that I can use it without tiring from shoving what has usually been a weighty piece of equipment in the past. And secondley, perhaps more importatnly, ensuring the longevity of my clothing and good appearance of myself. From the neck down anyway!!
Competitively priced at around the £30 mark and complete with a 2yr manufacturers gaurantee, I would recomend this device on the basis that if it can help me, it will be a breeze for you.
Summary: A lightweight well made steam iron that makes light of that most unpleasant duty.
