Advantages: Simple, easy to use, pretty

Disadvantages: none

I purchased my Morphy Richards Iron in Tesco for £25. I have had it for several months now and it has been a great iron so far and I've had no problems with it at all. The iron comes in cardboard packaging with all the contents protected in cardboard and plastic wrapping. The iron comes with the lead, a filler beaker and an instruction booklet.

Firstly the iron has a great appearance and the purple and white colouring is very pretty and girly. The purple plastic bits are see-through to allow you to see the level of water inside and it is easy to see the water and how much you have left.

After it has been plugged in the iron takes about 2-3 minutes to completely warm up. All the controls are placed well on the iron making them easy to use. It has a handle which is easy and comfortable to grip so you can hold on for long periods of time without getting aching wrists. Underneath the handle is a button which you can turn to change the intensity settings for various materials including wool, silk and cotton. On the side there is also a light which lets you know when the temperature has become too hot. The bottom has a smooth ceramic plate which has a non-stick surface and reduces burns and markings which is a great advantage.

The water tank can hold a large amount of water, up to 400ml. This means it doesn't have to be filled up very often but it does make it quite heavy, although overall the design is lightweight and easy to manoeuvre over clothes. It can be filled easily by simply pouring water into the opening. The steam comes out evenly and with just the right amount of force and power to remove creases. You can alter the amount of steam produced using the short-steam button which gives short, quick blasts. The steam can also be manoeuvred right into the corners of clothes. There is also a great feature with the steam which allows it to come out vertically so you can steam clothes once they are hanging up.

It produces a large amount of heat with a wattage of 2000W. It has a 2m long power cord which is quite flexible so can be moved quite a long way from the plug.

Overall this is an excellent iron which makes the job much quicker and easier. It looks great, is simple to use and definitely good value for money. I would definitely recommend.

Summary: A brilliant quality iron and great value for money.
