Advantages: Reliable and quick!

Disadvantages: Thermostat dial too easily knocked

I have owed this iron for a number of years and overall it has been reasonable. It is well made, but let down by the thermostat dial being far too lose and easily knocked to the wrong setting. Another downside is the lack of cable storage - so frequently gets in a tangle. The good points include heating up very quickly, its light weight and ergonomic shape. It requires very little maintaince, with only the steel base requiring an ocassional clean with fine wire wool (or similar).

The build quality is good and the dials are very clearly labelled.
The steam function is useful but I find it perfectly adequate as a dry iron.
I would not recommend this iron as although it is sturdy and reliable the dial is far too easily knocked. I am disappointed for a Morphy Richards iron that the ease of use (which is considerbly hampered by the dial) was not up to their normal standard.

Summary: Good Iron, but ease of use compromised by dial thermostat.
