Advantages: Reliable, good steam, excellent features
Disadvantages: None for me
I bought this iron when it was first released about 2 years ago. The clear purple covering was rather quite pretty and the features listd sounded quite good too.
I paid around £23 for it from Argos (I think), which was quite cheap when comparing the features to other irons, although you cn nowbuy similar models for less. I saw it on ebay for £15.
Overall its quite pretty. The front curvesforward, and it is quite easy to hold. There is a large enough gap between the handle and the dial so that you're not forever accidently knocking it to a different setting. The top is also made from purple rubber, and the front isnt too pointy, although it still hurts a lot when you drop it on your foot. It is finished with high gloss white plastic.
Well it comes with the standard steam and water squirt buttons (which is more often used on people rather than the ironing) , but there is a dial on the front so that you can adjust the amount steam. I find this quite useful, as I'm rather trigger happy when it comes to using the steam button, and so I run out of water constantly, but having it on the lowest setting means I don't have to fil it up as often. It also has the three dot settings on the main dial.
What did appeal to me about his iron though was the vertical steaming option. Because I despise ironing, I can use the vertical steam option on small things which don't need much ironing such as t shirts.
THee are also a couple more features; antidrip so that water isnt leaking all over your hand when you stand teh iron up, then pick it up. Apprently, it is also "self cleaning," so it's never spewed limescale or anything all over my clothes.
In a word, very high. I have a problem with dropping irons (how my last 3 died), but I've dropped this one on many occasions and its still going. The plate is also made from stainles steel, so you don't get any burn marks on the iron which then transferto the clothes. Theres also the act that I've left it switched on for hours numerous times, and it hasn't broken so far.
Overall, I'd say it was an excellent product, but it would be tricky to find as its an "old" model.
Summary: It's outlived all my other irons so far, go for it
