Singer Model 66 Sewing Machine:
... nearly a year when I was six years old. She brought a suitcase full of clothes and a small sewing machine cabinet. Inside it was the first vintage sewing machine I had ever clapped eyes on, my previous youthful experience being limited to the modern marvels in the Singer store window at the mall, and the new wonders owned by friends mothers. It was a thing of beauty to me, with its sleek lines and shiny black fi... Singer Featherweight II 117 Sewing Machine ... is a pretty good machine. It gets the job done and has enough settings and options to satisfy most part-time tailors. I wouldn t reccomend it for use in a shop, but if you re making or altering clothes out of your home, it works well enough. I picked up one for much cheaper than the listed price over in the states. I am not great at sewing and it s been an interesting learning experience, and so far, I haven t had any real problems with this machine that I wouldn t have with any other. So if the price is right, this is a good machine. At 200 pounds, though, you might be better off looking elsewhere. As I said, I got mine for about 35 pounds and was VERY happy with ... Singer Buttonholer for Lock Stitch Machines ... then they look daft etc so I just make her clothes now as I can tailor them. One of the most intrical things to need to do when tailoring clother is button holing. I hate button holing. Well I used too. Memories of being 7 and my Nan sitting me infront of her Janome and using the setting was daunting... it also wasnt always foolproof. When I got lucky on Ebay a couple of years back with a Singer 185k lowshank straight stitch, a friend of mine dragged me through ebay for the attachments (which I am now only missing one lol) and the best, and my most favouritest (is that a word?) attachment EVER is the Singer burronholer. I simply open a plate, slip in a template..... Read the full review: Buttonwhizzz by RPnecroranger |

Singer Monogrammer ... the 1960 s, when Singer introduced the slant needle zigzag series of machines known as the Golden Touch and Sew, they also introduced a new set of accessories to go with them. While a small number of Touch and Sews were made in Germany for the European market, the British economic situation was such that the accessories themselves were NOT marketed here, save for the buttonholer, as they were seen as expensive and out of the reach of the average household here. I have to scratch my head at this one, as the machines themselves were top of the line and very expensive, so surely the target consumers who cold afford these could afford the attachments? Apparently a very f... Read the full review: Let's Make It Personal by shroud |
