Make ironing almost enjoyable

Advantages: Lightweight, smooth, heats up quickly, good cord
I hate ironing but we need an iron in our house because my husband and I both prefer cotton clothes.
I bought this iron from Currys when it was on offer about two years ago for about £25, and it is one of our best loved pieces of equipment.
Power: 2400 W
The iron is a standard sized lightweight iron with a beautiful white and blue plastic covering on the body. The ultraglide ceramic soleplate that glides smoothly over clothing. The 'ultracord' is 2 m long and designed to prevent twisting. It has a heel so it stays nice and steady in the vertical position and the opening to fill water at the bottom. The capacity is 300 ml and there is a marking on the inside showing the maximum level. The heat adjustment is by a horizontal knob which I prefer to a circular one. The steam adjustment is at the very top ranging from no steam to maximum. Next to this are two buttons- one that releases steam on pressing and the other for squirting out water directly onto clothing, which is something I love when ironing stubborn cotton shirts. You can see the level of water through the translucent covering.
This iron makes the chore bearable for me, and it gives very good results on even the most difficult cotton shirts. It heats up very quickly and being lightweight is easy on the hands. I especially love the water squirting feature and the steam produced is very effective. The cord is long and it doesn't twist or get tangled up. Also there is a plastic covering on the cord where it joins the iron, this has protected the cord from getting worn and breaking up with use as has happened with previous irons. Filling it with water is easy and i have not had any leakage yet.
My husband once dropped it onto the carpet face down and while the carpet did get burnt nothing stuck to the iron as I expected.
Two years of almost daily use does not seem to have done anything to this iron. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Summary: Excellent product, would recommend
