Box Displays Ring Finger Fan Sizer

I've recently gotten very into ebay - I love picking up bargains there, and recently I've been eyeing up the jewellery section, with the idea of treating myself a little. The trouble is, with rings in particular, you do need them to be the right size, otherwise you risk ending up with something you can't wear without paying for expensive ... alterations, or something that might slip off and be lost. So, I decided to purchase a ring sizer.
Essentially, this is a device made of thin white plastic that fans out to provide various holes for you to pop your finger into, and the setting where it fits fairly tightly over the joint of the finger is the size you need. It's all fairly simple, and those are the full instructions you get with the product. It should be noted that this only goes from sizes K-Z, so doesn't cover child sizes, and depending on the slenderness of your fingers, may not be suitable. However, as quite a chunky fingered person myself, I found this very easy to use to get my measurements, which has enabled me, for the most part, to buy rings that fit.
I do have one or two gripes with this though- whilst we in the UK label ring sizes alphabetically, the US use numbers, and it would have been handy for this to have the numbers as well as the letters, or to come with some kind of conversion chart. It also feels quite flimsy - whilst it's fine for occasional personal use, I don't imagine this lasting long if used frequently, by a jeweller for example. And of course, it is only useful if Ebay sellers know the ring size in the first place, which isn't always the case.
For 1.95 including delivery from Amazon, I do think this is a good investment - it's already stopped me from buying two rings that totalled £70, and would have cost almost as much again to alter to fit, so it has paid for itself. It's very handy for anyone who may be buying rings online, and is small enough to be tucked away in my jewellery box so I know where it is between uses.
4 stars - has saved me money already, but I wish is came with a conversion chart to deal with US and European sizing.

I have to confess I'm a little obsessed with Pandora: I have two silver rings and a silver charm bracelet. I wear the rings everyday and the bracelet on special occasions. The rings, despite wearing them all day, everyday, for about a year now have shown no signs of ageing and still look as pretty as when I got them for my birthday. ... You'd expect this sort of durability from a product that costs as much as Pandora does! I love that you can mix and match their rings to make a little stack on your finger: definitely fits in with Pandora's marketing campaign as fully customisable.
My Pandora bracelet is just over a year old and about half full. For a while I had it with only a few beads on it and it didn't look empty due to this, but I would say that it looks better with around 5 beads or more on it. Unfortunately, this has the price tag to match. I would definitely recommend waiting until special occasions such as birthdays to purchase the beads, unless you have enough spare cash to warrant £40 for a bead. Also, if you only purchase them on special occasional or get them from friends or relatives, it adds to its appeal as a purveyor of memories. I would definitely say that that is Pandora's main quality: every time I wear mine I look at the beads and remember the different occasions when I bought each bead. I would say that if you buy one, fill it with beads like your birthstone or landmark birthdays because when you look back it'll be like a reminder of past events instead of merely an expensive bracelet.
When wearing it you are constantly aware of the price tag, and for peace of mind I would suggest buying a safety chain: they cost around £40 but they look pretty and also make it feel much safer when you're wearing it. I would say it's a worthwhile investment.
One downside, apart from the price tag, is that I have noticed that the older beads do look somewhat duller. Therefore, I would recommend that you clean it every so often to avoid this. The glass beads that I have don't look chipped or scratched however. Overall, I would say that Pandora is well worth the money and is a lovely item to be able to look back on and remember the occasions where you bought each bead. However, since the price tag is a lot, make sure you look after it, keep it safe and buy a safety chain for added security.
