Thomas Sabo Silver and Pearl Charm Bracelet
by alfiepeaches
For my 18th birthday my best friends family bought me a Thomas Sabo Bracelet and three charms to go with it. They all bought the bracelet together, my friend gave me an angel wing charm, her mum and dad gave me a pearl and her grandparents gave me this cute hummingbird charm.
There are many other charm bracelet brands on the ... market these days, one of the biggest being Pandora. Thomas Sabo is full of jewellery that is similarly priced to Pandora but is very different in looks and style, Thomas Sabo seems to be aimed at younger people or people who like brighter, crazier designs. The biggest difference is that Thomas Sabo charms are fixed to the bracelets by a sturdy clip and often only allow three or four charms on at a time depending which bracelet you buy.
My friends family bought me this cultured pearls one. I'm guessing they chose the small size for me as I have fairly small wrists and it fits perfectly with a little stretch over my hands and has a bit of room for movement around my wrist. The pearls are threaded on a nylon cord which is very strong and I have no worries of it breaking. The pearls are slightly textured with sort of ring engraved into them, at first this looks a little strange but the more I wore the bracelet, the more I liked it because it's different. The bracelet has a 'charm carrier on it' which is a silver bead with Thomas Sabo branded on it and a little hook to attach up to three charms on it. I have been able to fit up to four on mine although it can be a little crowded sometimes.
I really like the idea of being able to attach a maximum of three or four charms on it because sometimes on bracelets like Pandora there are just too many to look at. The bracelet looks very elegant being made of pearls and just a few charms, depending which charms you choose you can create a very elegant look or a fun look. The bracelet looks just as nice with one charm or none whereas a Pandora charm looks quite empty and boring with only one or a few charms on unfortunately and I think this is where Thomas Sabo really stands out.
These Thomas Sabo charm carrier bracelets come in a few variations which have different types and colours of beads depending on what you want. I love my pearl one as it goes with just about anything I wear. The only downside is that the little charms usually make the bracelet hang with the charms under my wrist and can make it uncomfortable for me to write or draw sometimes and often get caught on my cardigan. Overall though, the bracelet is very beautiful yet simple and looks more expensive than it is, I would definitely recommend this. Looking online, the bracelet costs £29.95 which I think is very fair as it is well made and very durable, I worn it on several nights out (which I probably shouldn't as I'm usually drunk...) and it has never broken or fallen off. When wearing it, it looks more expensive than this price tag too! Read the complete review |

Thomas Sabo Silver Humming Bird Charm
by alfiepeaches
For my 18th birthday my best friends family bought me a Thomas Sabo Bracelet and three charms to go with it. They all bought the bracelet together, my friend gave me an angel wing charm, her mum and dad gave me a pearl and her grandparents gave me this cute hummingbird charm.
Before receiving my bracelet and charms I had only ... heard of Thomas Sabo in the Katy Perry adverts in magazines and had never taken much notice of it. After I got this I did some searching and there is a huge variety of charms all with different themes and colours. They are different to Pandora as they little 3d silver charms that attach to the bracelet with a very strong clip. My bracelet allows room for three charms and I have since received an Eiffel tower charm and swap the charms around which is different to Pandora too has Pandoras are more about collecting and showing different stages of your life.
The charms come in a tiny round box about the size of a 50p that says Thomas Sabo Charm Club on and the bottom part of the box is white and black striped, inside the box is half full of a white foam and the charm is inside here. I really like these little boxes as they are so cute and look expensive as they remind you of shopping in the movies but in miniature form! The mini boxes come in a small silky white drawstring bag which has the Thomas Sabo logo printed on.
The humming bird is about 1cm by 1cm and a very simple mould, the back has no detail except the charm code engraved into it. The clip is attached to the tip of the wing so the bird hangs at an angle when worn. The beak of the humming bird is very long and pointy, I often catch myself with it and it's like a sharp pin, it always catches on a cardigan when putting one on so I only wear it when I'm wearing something with no arms. Unfortunately after being a bit too heavy handed (I was probably dunk...) the bird snapped at the wing where it is attached to the clip and the nose has bent a little at the end. I can't wear it anymore which I'm so annoyed at because, although it stabs me on a regular basis, it was my favourite! :(
The cost of this charm is £21.95 which is quite expensive for such a small charm, I think most of the price is because of the clip though as it is very sturdy and there is no worry of it accidently falling off. I really like this charm and really want to recommend it but because it broke so easily and would hurt me because of the pin like beak I can't really which is a shame. Read the complete review |

Thomas Sabo Black Obsidian and Silver Bracelet
by BobbySweetTooth
I bought this as a present for my girlfriend, along with 3 charms, for our one year anniversary, and it was very well received! Not only by her, but her friends constantly commented on it saying how beautiful it was.
The bracelet is of immense quality and the elastic is seemingly heavy duty and has survived being stretched ... when the bracelet has been caught on a door handle. The stones black stones have not suffered any notable damage such as chipping and if they have any scratches they certainly aren't noticeable so it's safe to suggest that this will be a present which will last until she gets bored of it!
The only thing I'd warn against is the clumsy looking charms - such as the Eiffel tower with the accompanying diamond - because unfortunately they aren't as pragmatic as other charms because they tend to get bashed about and weakened. For instance, my girlfriends Eiffel tower broke off and luckily they gave us a new one as she had the clasp attached.
If you're looking for a notable present then this is a safe bet with a charm or two! Think of it as sophisticated costume jewellery! Read the complete review |
