      Overall good belly bar

I had my belly button pierced a few years ago now; I have many surgical steel bars as well as a couple of plastic ones. I love the ones that are shiny and sparkly; in fact I think I may have been a magpie in past life. This was one of the bars that I actually bought myself, not only because it has said sparkles and pretty shiny bits, or because it is pink but also because it has a dangly bit which I like too. It has a large heart on top of two separate pink beads, then followed by another smaller pink heart. I don't often go out with by midriff showing, but when I do I make sure I have one of these bad boys in. Being made of surgical steel, I have had no allergic reaction to it at all, it undoes and does up easily, it is easy to wipe clean as well. The whole thing is not heavy so it doesn't hang or pull down when you wear it. It is a reasonable length as well as I do find, if they are too long they can get caught in the waistband of trousers or skirts. It costs £9.99 from Argos which is about the limit that I will pay for a belly bar.

A good belly button bar from Argos

As you may have seen from a couple of previous reviews since being pregnant I have been unable to wear my silver metal belly button bars as the metal seems to irritate my skin, however this has not always been the case, and I am hoping that I will go back to being able to wear my older belly button bars after I have had the baby. I have never been one for buying expensive belly button bars and have got a lot of mine from Argos as they do some which are of a good quality without being too expensive. One which I purchased several months ago was the Surgical Steel Pink Crystal 2 Heart Belly Bar, I was naturally drawn to this one purely because it was pink and sparkly, however it has proved to be one of my more hardwearing ones and one which up until recently I would wear on a regular basis. The Surgical Steel Pink Crystal 2 Heart Belly Bar came in a square box, similar to a ring box, there was a small label inside stating that the bar was made from surgical steel. The belly button bar itself was inside the box but inside a small clear resealable plastic bag to help keep the bar clean and sterile, however personally I always clean the bars before wearing them no matter how well they are packaged just in case. The packaging that the belly button bar came in was quite plain and basic really, there was nothing fancy about it. The Pink crystal Belly Bar is basically made from surgical steel and is silver in colour. The top part of the bar is like most belly button bars consisting of a slightly curved post with a small silver ball which screws on and off of the end of the post to either allow you to remove the bar or to secure it in place. At the end of the bar, the part which sits in you belly button is a largish pink heart set with pink crystals, these totally cover the heart shape giving the appearance of the heart being made totally from pink crystals. On the bottom of the main large heart are several silver links separated by two bright pink beads, attached at the bottom of this drop is a slightly smaller silver heart, again set with small pink crystals to match the larger main pink heart. The total length of the belly button bar is 10mm, this is an ideal length for every day wear, I like belly button bars that have a bit of a drop on them rather than just finishing at your belly button, however if they are too long they do tend to either get bunched up inside your belly button or get caught on clothes, however I found the length of this particular bar was just right. The Pink Crystal 2 Heart Belly Button Bar comes from Argos, so far I have not seen it available anywhere else, it is sold for just £9.99. Personally I feel this is a good price for this item, I have worn it on several occasions and leave it in whilst I bath and so on and so far it still looks as good as new, none of the crystals have fallen out, which I have found to be a problem with some cheaper belly button bars. I was pleased with the quality of this particular belly button bar, especially as it was so cheap to buy. Overall I would definitely recommend the Surgical Steel Pink crystal 2 Heart Belly Button Bar, it is made from surgical steel which is strong and I have been told that it is a good one to go for if you are allergic to some metals, although this depends on the individual and even I cannot wear these at the moment. The bar has proved to be hardwearing, the drop on the bar has not broken at all and none of the crystals have fallen out through a lot of wear, it is still in excellent condition and looks as good as new. The bar has not discoloured at all and I have been extremely pleased with the quality of it, especially as it was so cheap to buy. The bar when in looks very pretty with all the sparkly pink crystals and is ideal for everyday wear, the drop is not too long and does not catch on your clothing, in my opinion it is just the right length and is comfortable to wear. It is a very girly belly button bar, and one I would definitely recommend if this is your sort of thing.
