Advantages: Lovely product & Great value...

Disadvantages: None whatsoever..

At Christmas time, I bought my fourteen year old cousin a lovely silver-plated charm bracelet with three charms on it. Having spoken to her since then and knowing how much she loved it, I knew that she wanted some more charms to add to the bracelet and so I was on the look-out for some attractive charms to give her for her birthday recently.

As I work part-time as an Avon representative when my poor health allows, I knew that there were several charms available for sale in a recent brochure. I decided to buy a couple of them to give to my cousin for her birthday and one of the charms I bought was the Avon Red Sparkly Heart Charm.

The packaging for the Avon Red Sparkly Heart Charm consisted of a small gift box made of cardboard with the Avon logo on it and I thought it was fairly basic but it did the job. I actually put the charm in an attractive little pouch that I had bought for the purpose and thought it was a slightly more attractive way of presenting the gift than the rather plain-looking box it was packaged in.

In a silver-coloured metal, the Avon heart charm is a very attractive little charm and I thought it offered great value for money, costing only £4 in a recent brochure. In actual fact it is available for a reduced price on the Avon website at the moment, and is reduced to £2.50 which is a fantastic bargain in my opinion.

The Avon Sparkly Heart Charm is attractive in its design and is obviously quite girly looking, being a love heart shaped charm. Across the charm are little red sparkly stones, similar to diamante-type stones, and they are fairly good at catching the light. The little stones appear to be of a fairly good quality and are not overly 'glassy' looking in the way that some cheaper costume jewellery is.

The charm is very easy to attach to a charm bracelet, and I tried it out on my own charm bracelet before I gave it to my cousin for her birthday. There were no problems with it fitting on to my own bracelet and I couldn't see that there would be any problem with it fitting on to most (if not all) charm bracelets. There is a little 'claw' at the top of the charm, from which the charm itself dangles, and this claw can be opened by pushing down the little lever, and hooking the claw onto the bracelet. This is not at all difficult to do and I liked the fact that the charm was easy to attach, as well as it being suitable to fit most charm bracelets, not just those from the Avon brochure.

The Avon Sparkly Heart Charm appears to be a fairly robust little item, although I did wonder how well the little red sparkly stones had been attached to the silver heart, and whether any of them would fall off after a little wear. This wouldn't put me off too much though, and considering the low price paid for the charm in the first place I wouldn't think it was going to last forever anyway!

The Heart Charm is not overly delicate looking, so I do think that it would be suitable for teenagers and younger girls as there is nothing too intricate about its design. That said, the heart charm does not have an overly 'clunky' look to it and it does look delicate enough to be added to a charm bracelet without being one of those little charms that seems to be out of place and appears over-sized.

Overall, I thought that the Avon Red Sparkly Heart Charm was a great little charm that would compliment any charm bracelet. I thought that the design and detailing on the charm itself were really attractive, very girly and extremely eye-catching. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and thought it offered great value for money... it definitely deserves full marks and I have nothing negative to say about the charm at all!

There is a whole range of charms and bracelets available from Avon, with prices ranging from £2 - £10. You can purchase Avon items directly from your local Avon representative, or you can order online at the Avon website, which is www.avonshop.co.uk.

Summary: A little sparkly charm from Avon that I would recommend!
