As most of you will know, I am due to get married very soon, and as I'm quite organised I've been buying bits and bobs here and there to avoid having to do everything at last minute. A few weeks ago, I went shopping with my friend, and we were wandering through Debenhams. I was looking at the Jon Richard jewellery, just browsing, and I saw these earrings which had been reduced to £4 in the sale. Perfect for my wedding day, and a bargain to match.
The earrings are quite dainty, and are perfect for me because I only wear studs usually so didn't want anything too daring. They drop by about one inch from the ear, and have a decent sized piece of metal to make sure they don't fall out. As you can see from the picture, they have a little stone of something shiny - in all honesty I'm not sure what this is made of, for £4 it isn't going to be anything expensive, but the website describes it as a "crystal drop". You can't see very well on the picture, but the metal from the crystal drop to the pearl effect is actually heart shaped, which I thought was a really lovely touch from such an inexpensive pair of earrings. Then the pearl-effect stone at the bottom is perfectly sized and finishes the look off.
I have worn these a couple of times when my husband-to-be isn't around, just to make sure they don't irritate my ears like some cheap jewellery can. I've worn them for an entire day and they've been perfectly comfortable. I'm not sure how long they'll last or if they'll start getting discoloured as time goes on, but usually if I'm going to have a reaction to cheap earrings, it happens as soon as I put them in. These are perfectly comfortable, however, and I'm convinced they're not going to turn my ears green on my wedding day or anything like that!
These earrings are really pretty, and they would be ideal for a bride, or someone trying to create a vintage look (which I'm told is very much in fashion these days). I would say for £4, even if I only get the one day's wear out of them, it's money well spent considering the bridal jewellery I've seen in the magazines starts from around £50. I'm very happy with my purchase, and I can't wait to wear them!
