“ Brand: Dolly Mixture Clothing / Type: Ring „
I first got one of these when I did a swap over myspace and I got a free letter B, unfortunately I needed an L so I went looking online and found that people all over ebay was hand making these themselves, I ended up purchasing an L for for £3 including postage and packaging.
Working in a bar your always dealing with money and making drinks so the first ting people notice is your hands, I have had countless compliments on how good it looks on and with my outfit and also had so many questions where to get this from, I think this makes my fingers and hands look more feminine, which I love because I'm not a very girly girl. These rings are made with ordinary scrabble game tiles, the ring is adjustable but unfortunately it isn't real silver other wise it wouldnt be so cheap, but if you put a little bit of clear nail varnish on the inside, then it won't leave your finger going green if you wear this for large amounts of time.
These are cool and quirky, I'm have quite a funky personality and like to reflect this with my sense of style and jewellery like this really does help you to stand out, You can spell out names or words with these if you like to wear a lot of rings at any time, or have the initials of a loved one with you which I think is the cutest thing.
I have been making these for over 3 years now and are the cheapest on ebay, the title for the listing is.
'Scrabble tile rings. CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS/PARTY BAGS'
Those who consider themselves intellectual or just a bit kooky will love this ring. Scrabble has long been a nerd's game, but as that is what is currently 'in', it is great to get a personalised initial ring that is one of the small plastic letters from the game.
The ring itself fits well to most finger sizes and does not fall off or get stuck in the finger, and is best worn on the wedding finger. When people wear rings it makes you aware of just how much you notice people's hands, so why not team this ring up with some pretty decadent wristwear and a nice dark red nailpolish?
The autumn trend includes librarian-esque clothes and lots of deep reds and dark yellows, and this ring will fit in perfectly with the season's attire. For something that the majority of people won't have but will definitely want after seeing it, this is a cheap and effective ring to buy.
As I work as a cashier the first thing I notice about most people is their hands. I can notice straight away if someones got some nice nail varnish but more importantly I notice rings and bracelets. I see so many on a daily basis but the scrabble rings were the ones that really caught my eye as a lot of people seem to be wearing them lately and I just thought how cool they were and I decided to buy one for myself. But sadly for months I couldnt find one - as far as I know these rings arent available in shops and I just thought I would never find one until a few weeks ago I found a small shop online [that happened to be based in Birmingham] that sold them so I treated myself to this 'Scrabble Tile Ring' and Ive been wearing it none stop ever since!!
Price: I paid around £5 for the ring & P+P
Stockists: I got my ring from LoveHearts&Crosses which is a small online site - these rings are NOT widely available at all and as far as I can tell they are only sold online by a few small retailers.
Other Info: These rings are made from genuine scrabble tiles so if you get a slightly older tile it may show signs of aging - very retro though I reckon! Any letter is available - although some are harder to get hold of than others I believe & this ring is available in one size only - dont worry about that though as the back is adjustable so it will fit any finger of any size.
Now when choosing my ring I obviously bought one that had the letter of my first name which is S - the exact same design as the one on the image with this review. The front of the ring basically is a scrabble tile - the exact same ones as you would get with the actual board game. It is plastic and a faded, yellow colour - I think I got one of the retro ones which if anything I actually prefer as it looks very vintage which is just my style. My ring has the letter S printed on the front in black and the number 1 - Im assuming that must be the letters score in Scrabble, Im guessing because Ive actually never played the game!! But the design is just what I expected and buying online isnt a problem with this piece as what you see is exactly what you get so you wont have any disappointments.
Now the ring coming in only one size initially scared me as obviously when buying online you cant try it on to see if it will fit or not but you need'nt worry this will fit any fingers regardless of size! The back of the ring is a silver band which is quite chunky and has a split in the middle. The idea of the split is that you can loosen the back or tighten it depending on what finger your wearing this on or the size of your fingers. I have quite slender fingers so I had to tighten this up from its original size quite a bit but now it fits like a dream - just the right size as its fitted but my finger still has a bit of wiggle room - its nice that YOU get to chose the size thats right for you - I really like that about this ring.
This ring is also super comfy when you have sized it. As it is made to fit you it is always comfortable and wont be too tight or too loose because you essentially get to chose the size so its a ring made for everyone - I can wear this all day without it hindering anything Im doing or leaving any marks behind on my skin. Now the band is made of sterling silver so it MIGHT leave that weird green mark on your skin - I havent had that issue though as yet - but paint around the inside of the band with clear nail varnish and that wont be a problem at all. The ring seems very high quality to me and the aging rather than making it look old and out of date actually makes the overall design more funky and retro for me so the aging actually works for the design! This ring has gone with everything Ive matched it with so far because the colours are quite simple so it goes with any colour or style and trust me it matches yet seems to stand out a lot.
I was walking through town the other day and a man randomly stopped me to tell me how cool my ring was - why he was staring at my hands I have no idea LMAO! Either way I would fully recommend this ring - the design is very funky and retro, its comfy and fitted to suit your fingers & it can be found pretty cheap so whats not to like? Fully recommended and Im so glad I finally found mine!!
Thanks For Reading.
