When we were organising our wedding and it came to purchasing the wedding rings, we had a rough idea of what we wanted, Mark wanted something plain whereas I wanted something sparkly. We decided to have a look in a local Ernst Jones, I wasn't too sure about buying my wedding ring from here as I had had nothing but problems with H Samuel where I bought my engagement ring from and the two stores are linked, however this was a totally different branch and I was going to put my foot down, there was no way I was having the ring altered after what happened with my engagement ring, they were just going to have to order me in the ring I wanted in my size. After browsing around the shop we were given the chance to try on any of the rings we liked the look of and I knew exactly which ring I wanted to try, the Ladies 9ct White Gold Channel Set Diamond Wedding Ring, although I did try on others this was perfect for what I wanted, it was sparkly without being over the top and actually fitted perfectly with my engagement ring.
The wedding ring came in a small square ring box with the name Ernest Jones on the top of it, the ring was set in a small groove inside the box so that it could be seen but also so that it did not rattle around inside the box and get damaged, there's not really a massive amount to say about the packaging other than that, it was quite stylish.
The White Gold Channel Set Diamond Wedding Ring is quite thin and measures about 0.5cm in width, my engagement ring has quite a narrow band so I didn't want anything too thick that was going to dominate it. The ring actually has the appearance of twin bands of white gold crossed over at the front, this then moulds into a single thin band at the back. The upper band of gold has 11 small round diamonds set in it in a row, when the ring is in place this goes the whole width of the front of the ring. The diamonds are set as the name suggests within a small channel in the front of the ring meaning they do not stick up and the whole front of the ring is smooth and flat, I personally liked this feature as it means I do not have to worry about catching the diamonds on anything and loosing them.
The white gold is of a decent thickness which again is ideal for me as I do not have to worry about bending the ring, I do not do a manual job but it is very easy to lean on something or push against something and bend a ring so having one which was reasonably sturdy was ideal. The thickness of the ring does not in anyway make it look bulky though.
The Wedding Ring is available both in store and online, we bought mine in store where I was measured to see exactly what size I was, online the ring comes in sizes I to S, however you do need to know your exact size to do this, in store they were able to get most sizes in including some half sizes so there is a lot more size variety by buying the ring from an Ernst Jones store, I actually ended up ordering in my correct size as the one in the shop was a bit too big, however it came within a couple of weeks.
When I was looking for my wedding ring I needed something that was going to sit nicely with my engagement ring, the lady in the shop said that when the wedding ring and engagement sit together there should be hardly any gap between the two. When I tried this ring on with my engagement ring it sat perfectly, there was virtually no gap between the two and they actually felt extremely comfortable together, they actually look like they were made to fit together. We hadn't really set a budget when it came to buying our wedding rings, although we didn't want to spend a huge amount, I also didn't want something that was so expensive that I would be to worried to wear it in case I damaged it. The White Gold Channel Diamond ring was reasonably priced, it is currently being sold online for £350.00, when we purchased mine it was around this price and that was from the Ernest Jones store
Personally I would recommend the Ladies 9ct White Gold Channel Diamond Wedding Ring, in my opinion it is the perfect width and size meaning it fits well with my engagement ring. The row of diamonds gives it that added sparkle and makes it a bit different to a plain band. I knew right from the start that I wanted white gold as all of my other jewellery I wear is made from white gold so it was important that it matched, I also find that white gold maintains its shiny appearance, I have been wearing my ring for 7 months now and it still looks as good as new, it is still very shiny and I have not had to use any cleaners on it.
The ring is very reasonably priced for a diamond wedding ring and also comes in a range of sizes, although you do have more choice by shopping in store. This is definitely a ring I would recommend, it is extremely comfortable to wear and in my opinion the perfect wedding ring.
