Shottle Bop is an online store which sells necklaces and earrings which are little bottles filled with a liquid (or tablets which are all non toxic) in the colour of your choice, topped with a little cork and labelled with one of the many different labels which are "remedies" - think Victorian Era medicine bottles and you are pretty much there with what Shottle Bop products look like.

Shottle Bop is a newly established company but it is the sister company of Silversaurus which sells a variety of sterling silver jewellery either already made or custom made to your ideals. You may have noticed that Shottle Bop is a play on the words Bottle Shop.

Shottle Bop is great for finding that different piece of jewellery which will get everyone talking. The company has some bottles which are labelled from the ideas of the owners such as: "Mother's Ruin", "Siren's Elixir" or simply "Poison" each with a little witty description of what the content will do or who it is aimed for. Bottles cost £8.00 for standard ones or £10.00 for customised ones plus postage costs. Earrings are slightly more.

If you don't fancy one of the ideas presented to you, you can customise your own Shottle Bop bottle which is what I did and it was very easy and simple to do.

Although alot of the bottles on the website did take my fancy, being a bit of a Twilight fanatic I wanted something to represent it and I thought there would be nothing better than having a bottle of Vampire Venom hanging around my neck in a bottle.

To customise my own bottle I clicked on the link on the website which says "Customise" and it is this link you click to make your own Shottle Bop bottle. You can customise the earrings or the necklaces, it is up to you. There are 16 different colours of liquid or tablets to choose from for your chosen product in a drop down menu. I chose a clear liquid with glitter added for my Vampire Venom to give it the true "sparkling vampire" effect. Once you have chosen your colour you go on to give your bottle its name. I kept mine simple and chose Vampire Venom though you can be really creative with it. You can then choose a subtitle to go underneath. You don't have to do this, it is completely optional but I did and I chose to have the words "Inject directly into the heart" (Twilight fans will know what I am going on about) underneath the title. You can then go on to chose to add glitter, add a silver spoon (which is an extra £4.00) and then the chain colour and the length. Then you just simply check out, pay via PayPal and you are done.

I was absolutely thrilled with my Shottle Bop necklace when it arrived. It was well made and looked exactly as I pictured it to look. It arrived in a little black box, wrapped around with red string and all held together with a wax stamp which I think is a great touch and really transported me back to times gone by. It arrived quickly - 1 day after I had ordered which was fantastic.

The necklace itself was made to a high standard and quality. The bottle was not as big as I expected it to be and it is a nice dainty size which looks lovely when it is worn on a shorter chain and hangs between your collar bone. The actual bottle is made of real glass and they are made to withstand normal wear and tear but if you drop them on hard surfaces or knock them hard enough they will break. The cork is sealed into the actual bottle with glue to prevent the liquid or tablets inside the bottle from coming out. The liquid in my bottle was clear with glitter inside just as I had ordered and it looks lovely and it glints ever so gently in the sunlight. I have had many comments about my necklace when wearing it and I am really pleased that I purchased one.

The owner of Shottle Bop is absolutely lovely and the customer service is great. I found contacting the owner of Shottle Bop to enquire as to when my purchase was to be posted very simple and I was replied to very quickly with a nice, cheery email.

All in all I highly recommend Shottle Bop.
