For my birthday in April my sister bought me a few pairs of River Island earrings as an extra little gift. There are so many lovely looking cheap earrings currently on the site I am not surprised she managed to choose three lovely pairs. One of the pairs she chose for me was the silver tone butterfly stud earring and this is my review of those.
The silver tone butterfly earrings are a good size, around a centimetre in length, and so they don't look too large on the ear but they are still noticeable whilst you are wearing them. They do look like a typical butterfly shape as well and so I don't think there is any danger of not knowing what they are. They are made from a 100% metal which is silver in colour and which features lines engraved in to the metal to give the effect of a pattern on the butterfly's wings which adds nicely to the detail I think.
I think these earrings look lovely once you are wearing them and I have to say that even though they cost just £1.50 they do seem to be hard wearing and they certainly don't look as cheap as their actual price. My only issue with these earrings and the reason that I don't wear them as often as I wear the other two pairs my sister bought for me is that the clasp at the back which holds the earring in to your ear is actually quite tricky to pull off and sometimes it can feel like I am really tugging at my ear which is a bit painful and so I tend to avoid wearing them all that much.
I do think that the earrings are fashionable and cute to look at and as such I would say they are more suited to day time wear as opposed to a night out. I do tend to wear a lot of fashion earrings as opposed to proper jewellers earrings and so I change them regularly as I like to have a different look depending on how I am feeling, my outfit or even my make up! I think in particular these earrings are suited to summer days rather than winter ones!
Whilst I do have issues with the clasp on these earrings this should not really put you off buying them because for just £1.50 they are a bargain and there is no reason why you cant use a different clasp for the back of the earring should you wish to. They are available online from River Island but I would imagine some stores do stock them as well.
Thank you for reading my review!
