... I was at college around five years ago, my father was diagnosed as having condition called gilberts disease. This meant that his body was unable to break down cholesterol properly, and as a consequence of this he had a mini stroke. This marked the beginning of his obsession with juicing. No piece of fruit or veg in our house was safe. If it had juice, he wanted to extract it. The Philips HR1865 is his second juicer as he managed to wear out the motor on his first. Thankfully for him though, this wonderful piece of equipment seems to be able to take everything he throws at it, and quite often he will use it two or three times a day. I m one of those people who resolves to be healthy every once in a while, I was very happy when my dad bought home the Moulinex Whole fruit juicer - it doesn t say the code on the front of the manual or the front of the machine so I had to use my newly juice sustained muscles to lift it up and read that it was the Ju500! You can generally buy this from around £60 and upwards, but amazon is selling it for about £36! (just type in moulinex juicer - the description says the product code is ju500815) When I first took it out of the box, it all looked very complicated (there are 9 separate parts: the large pusher, small pusher, reducer for small pusher, feed tube/cove...

... bought this juicer in a fit of health conciousness a few years ago, and to be honest have hardly had it out of the cupbaord recently. The juicer is relatively easy to assemble- the parts simply slot into place and the side clips clip it all into place. The feed chute is fairly narrow so whatever you are juicing does need to cut up into chunks which is a bit of a pain- in hindsight I would prefer a juicer you could just bung whole apples into (as this is probably the thing we juice most). It comes apart completely so is relatively easy to clean. Having said that the pulp filter can take a good old scrub. It s much easier to clean if you do it straight away, before any ...
