Advantages: Big spout. Powerful motor. Well made.

This review is for the Breville JE3 with the 850 watt motor. The later, almost identical JE15 has a 950watt motor.

I bought two of the JE3 for different properties. This is a powerful machine. Both continue to perform well after a about 4 years of regular use (at least twice a week).

Handwashing after a juicing session can be a chore but the mucky bits are quite happy in a dishwasher. Otherwise its a rinse job followed by a scrub up with the brush supplied. Only the motor unit is dishwasher unfriendly.

They are used mostly for orange juice, plus some apples, pineapples and carrots. The spout takes nice large chunks of fruit or veg. The machine is easy to assemble and disassemble. The metal bar holds it all in place during a juicing session. Silver finish.

The on-off switch is a little utilitarian but heavy duty and made of metal. Noisy, with a big motor. Best to close the windows before annoying the neighbours! Big sticky rubber feet stop it sliding around while in use.

Best to put the pith residue through twice if you want to get all the juice out. The first time through on low speed, then the second time using the fast speed. Gives excellent results with the citrus fruits I mostly tend to juice.

The big container takes the waste pith. Citrus pith goes in the compost or better still around the veg patch to deter cats. Carrot 'pith' goes into carrot cake. Juice goes into the smaller one litre container. Pineapple cores juice well.

The fruit mostly comes from regular visits to Tescos and the Co-ops reduced counters. So much sometimes for a pound I can hardly carry it . Otherwise it goes in their skips.

I'd thoroughly recommend this piece of kit if you are serious about juicing. Only juicer I've owned so I cannot compare.
