Advantages: The ability to juice even wheatgrass! and much more
Disadvantages: Possibly the price and the noise it produces
ASDA! Honestly, the place to go. I buy nearly all my products and food goods from there and the Green Juice Star extractor is no exception.
On a recent trip to the Wal-Mart Shopping centre I came across a wide range of electrical goods, and actually, I went in there looking for a television =D but changed my mind. The juicer isle just screamed 'Buy me!'. On walking over I came across this one with its price tag of £ 98.99. Yes, your not seeing things! That really is expensive for a juicer, but wait untill you see what it does lol =D.
Firstly, I got it home and took it out of the box. It was quite a bit bigger than expected but just managed to fit on my kitchen unit. The width and height, after reading the box, told me that it was 67cm (Height) and 90cm (Width). It also weighs 3 Kg, due to the various parts inside.
Next, After reading the manual (Which a bit difficult to read due to the small text. Then again, I do need my eyes checking soon lol), I discovered that the Juicer is able to Juice virtually anything, Including wheatgrass, hard fruits and vegetables. This came in very handy as I'm quite picky about the foods I eat, Especially oranges with the loose skin. The juicer does away with that problem =)
Also in the instructions, (And on the box) it says the Juicer is 'Quiet' but this is far from the truth. After plugging it in and testing it for the first time, I discovered that it is infact quite loud due to the vast amount of mechanisms it uses to work, all clinking and clanging together.
The juicer also comes with a special brush which makes cleaning the robust plastic of the exterior and interior quite easy.
Finally, the juicer comes with a five year parts and labour warranty (As stated on the box) (UK only), Which was another reason why I chose this one above all the other juicers.

- 02/10/07 A good start here but youll need to put more info in if youre going to promise to members what it does. You say that it does oranges, so can you just pop them in without peeling? What is it like to clean? Anything dishwasher safe? Is carrying it or moving it easy - because some consumers would probably wish to put this away when not in use. Lastly, apart from oranges and wheatgrass what is the performance like generally for most juices and where does all the pith go? Do you get any recipe books or a manual with it?
