Advantages: juices fast

Disadvantages: big, loud, and a pain to clean

first time i saw the juicer was on a shopping channel down a friends and i admit i got sucked in and ended up buying one
i bought mine for £139 and was very exicetd when it came, no chopping apples, no peeling just throw the fruit in and the juicer does the rest and not much pulp well thats what the advert suggest.
so i set it up and it takes up a large space ideal for a big kitchen and i washesd an average sized apple and went to put it down the shoot but to my suprise and annoyance it didnt fit so i chopped the apple whilst cursing jack la lanne at the same time and put the segments of apple down the shoot and waited for my juice, and it did juice the apple fast but it was loud. next i tried an orange, which i also had to cut up more cursing jack and i put it down the shoot with the skin on as jack says to do in the book which i got with my juicer and when i tried it, it was awfull so i tried with out the skin and it was a lot nicer now that i finished juicing, cleaning was next the part i hate most, it was a real pain in the butt theres about 8 diffrent things you have to clean. and you have to take it apart which is fairly easy it would be easier to clean if you have a dishwasher or someone else to clean it

my overall view of this is its not worth the hassle, because you can buy juice cheap enough at supermarkets although juicing your own is healthier if its organic fruit if its just regular fruit and veg its definately not worth it with all the pesticide and other stuff they put on fruit and veg these days

Summary: not worth the money

nar2 they say you can wash off the pesticides, but what about the chemicals that the fruit/veg has soaked up, if that was the case of washing the fruit/veg and then its perfectly safe, then why the big deal with organic, why do oganic taste totally diffrent, because they dont have pesticides and all the other crap they put on them

An interesting review. As owner of a Moulinex and Kenwood before we got the JLLanne juicer, this juicer is a lot quieter particularly on start up even before you add the fruit. Ive got Braeburn apples down the chute without any bother and it does cut through any skin apple unless you tried juicing cooking apples! Another thing, pesticides can be washed off by scrubbing the fruit. Against Innocent smoothies which are priced between £3 and £4 home juicing is comparable, if comparing like with like. A bit more info on the model would be handy, such as what you received with the machine when you bought it, whether any part is dishwasher safe.

I've seen the ads on the shopping channel as well - annoying that you do have to chop the fruit after all
