Advantages: Gets the children taking in all those vital nutigents

Disadvantages: Clearing up

Jack La Lanne’s Power Juicer I have to say has really made a difference within our family, with me and two young children who dislike fruit and vegetables this has been a great way to get us taking all those natural ingredients, vital vitamins and that 5 a day thing that the government keep going on about. The battle is won when the children get to pick and choose what they want to put in the juicer, which half the battle this way they take ownership rather than you trying to tell them that it is good for them, as they put the fruit or vegetables in and push down on the plunger the juice comes out before their vary eyes and I mean there is loads of it and very little in the pulp, in fact it is almost bone dry and the pulp can be used to make very tasty muffins, try it.

You can change the colour and taste of the drink just by adding different coloured fruit and vegetables; it’s amazing what an apple can do to sweeten things up.

The best thing of course there are no preservatives, you know exactly what you are putting in.

The hardest part like every appliance is the tidying up, although you can virtually put everything in the dishwasher, I would not put the plunger in as this somehow gets water inside it which does not come out. I would probably recommend washing most of the parts in mild detergent first. The price has tumbled since I bought one and is probably still the best on the market, although the updated version does come with a plunger spout to stop those drips after the glass has been removed.

Summary: Well worth buying, forget the package brands of health drinks

A good start here. Have you actually made any muffins though? What is missing from this review is the warnings of what you can't put in a juicer let alone this model. Noise level too would be handy to know about as well as the general size of it. I have a JLL juicer too, I adore it but there are obvious downsides and 5 a day may be easier to consume through juice but it can be expensive buying in all of that fruit.

That's a great idea about using the pulp for muffins! I'd never have thought of that. Thanks!
