Advantages: very quick
Disadvantages: doesn't juice some vegetables well such as spinach
I have had this juicer for almost four years and have been using it daily for about a year. It makes juicing quick and simple. Most fruits such as apples and pears don't need to be peeled or chopped as the chute is wide enough for whole pieces to fit which makes juicing fast.
It is very easy to assemble and use - the parts fit together very well. It comes with two orange magnetic keys that are used to tighten/loosen the blade to ensure that you don't cut yourself. Once assembled all you need to do is add the fruits and vegetables then use the pusher tool. Juice comes out instantly so make sure there is something to catch all of the juice!
I believe the product has been made with good quality materials as it is strong and has lasted a long time however, as the juicer is white, the inside has become stained orange perhaps from juicing carrots.
It can be quite time consuming taking apart and washing the product after each use. It can be put into the dish washer but I would not recommend this because it has scratched of the silver part that goes round the top of the juicer.
The blade spins very fast which enables the juicer to juice hard raw fruits and vegetables effortlessly - on a few occasions whilst using this juicer it has become clogged which caused the blade to stop spinning if this happens be sure to switch it off from the mains before clearing the blockage to avoid injury.
It product doesn't make too much noise whilst operating so it can be used in the mornings and late evening without too much disruption.
The quality of the juice is very good; the strainer ensures that no seeds, peel or pieces of fruits or vegetables get into the juice.
The product comes with a manual and a juicing guide book with recipes for making fruit and vegetable juice. This is helpful if you are new to juicing and need some ideas.
This juicer is a centrifugal juicer so it doesn't juice vegetable such as spinach well. When I use this juicer to juice spinach, it comes out in the trash as almost whole pieces. If you would like to juice leafy greens I would recommend you to buy a masticating juicer which "chews" and squeezes the fruits more.
The two main features that I don't like about this product is that the pusher has a specific shape and if you put it in at the wrong angle it gets stuck and the spout is too low down so I can't put my tall glass under it.
There is a newer version of this model called the Jack Lalanne express power juicer which I would have definitely purchased instead if it was available at the time because the chute is rounded and wider so the pusher won't get stuck and larger fruits and vegetables can be used.
Tips for using this juicer:
You can put a plastic bag in the trash collector to make cleaning the juicer quicker and easier
Use a washing up brush to clean the strainer instead of a sponge because it cleans it faster.
If you are going to juice citrus I would recommend peeling of the pith as this can make the juice taste bitter.
I would recommend this juicer to anyone who juices once in a while because it is less expensive than other models and does the job well.
Summary: overall this juicer makes great tasting juices
