Disadvantages: messy and not cost effective

I was given my Kenwood Juicer as a present many years ago now, and although it's spent some time in the back of the cupboard (don't all gadgets really)! When it does see the light of day its pretty good and still functioning well.

Juicers have progressed a lot since I first received this and are less messy, easier to clean and take more fruit at one time - so I'm lead to believe.

It does juice well and I've made many amazing-and disgusting concoctions in it. Never again will I try Celery juice!

I did an experiment and bought £1's worth of apples and £1 worth of already squeezed apply juice. I got two and a bit glasses of juice from squeezing my own compared to 8+ glasses of the already squeezed one...but my juice tasted much better, would have been much more healthy, contained more vitamins and gave me a 'good feeling' that I'd done it myself.

As fruit prices rise, its definitely not good value, unless you have your own fruit growing outside or access to cheap fruit.

I find, no matter how hard I try, that it leaks down the side of the glass as it pours out leaving a nice mess and some waste.

It's really awkward and time consuming to clean and fits in very little fruit at one time, so lots of time is spent chopping the fruit into small chunks.

Time consuming, messy, awkward, non cost effective..yet I love it!
