Advantages: Removes most pulps, you can throw in a whole apple without any prep
Having done hours of research into the many juicers available, we opted to get this one, largely based on the fact that it has won awards from various magazines, most notably WHICH?, showing it to be of a certain standard.
Apparently this juicer is centrifugal, which means there is a spinning extractor which separates out the juice itself and the pulp residue. The juice runs out through a funnel into the jug whilst the excess pulp is thrown into a hopper, which can be easily removed to dispose of the excesses. All of these parts are made of dishwasher safe plastic - saves you cleaning them by hand.
The machine has 2 speeds, controlled by the single knob on the side - the slower speed is recommended for softer fruits and the higher speed for harder fruits, such as apples. The large chute on top of the machine means that whole fruits can be dropped in without needing to be cut - only really large fruits like pineapples will need preparation prior to being juiced up.
Unfortunately, juicers are fairly noisy and this machine continues the theme. In terms of the end results, the most notable difference with this machine compared to others is how much of the pulp is removed from the juice, leaving a smooth end product.
Overall, this product is slightly more expensive than other juicers, but the end product is worth it.
Summary: If you're in the market for a juicer - get this one and you won't be disappointed.
