      Good blender, average juicer

I have read other reviews of people having bad experiences with this product, but mine has been more positive.
This blender/juicer combo comes with two separate features: a large jug for blending in, and a juicer.

The blender, I have to say, has been really great. It has different speed functions from low to high, and on the highest speed you can blend a smoothie in minutes, or even less. The lid has a really sturdy seal on it, so there will be no spillages or smoothie explosions everywhere. The jug fits nicely onto the main console and clicks into place easily, not like some fiddly equipment which is really hard to fix together.
I have made lots of great smoothies in this blender!

The juicer, like others have said, is difficult to clean, as it comprises of lots of different parts: the lid, the grater-type fixture that juices the fruit, the bowl itself and the part that you use to press the fruit down. Cleaning this takes ages! Especially because you are left with loads of bits of fruit peel and pulp in the main compartment and the grater. The time it takes to clean puts me off using it as a juicer, generally. However I have had some successful juice-making experiences, I've made carrot juice and fresh apple juice. Another slight problem, though, is that the spout where the juice comes out often misses the cup you are trying to get the juice in and leaks on to the worktop.
Overall, I would recommend this if you want a really good blender, and an average juicer.

        A waste of money

In an effort to be healthier my husband and I purchased the Rosemary Conley juicer when it was on offer, we purchased it from Superdrug which doesn't normally sell that sort of thing, as part of a Summer promotion, for £29.99.

It's fairly nondescript - a basic white and clear plastic juicer, with a thin instruction booklet. It's a 400 watt model which is quite standard for juicers and for the money we were initially quite pleased with it.

However I really really wish we'd gone for a more established name / better quality product. The juicer is so flawed it's almost un-usable. When you use it, there is also a fairly worrying burning rubber sort of smell, presumably from the motor - it doesn't seem to affect the juice but it's pretty off-putting nevertheless.

The juicer is supposed to extract all juice from fruits and vegetables but there are two problems with this. One is that unlike more expensive and powerful juicers, you can't put whole pieces of fruit in. You have to chop them up fairly small and even then it doesn't seem to extract all the juice from it - you end up with soggy half juiced orange pieces (for example). If you wanted to make a regular sized glass of fresh orange juice you'd need at least ten large oranges! It's totally useless - you could buy freshly squeezed orange juice every day cheaper than that. It's leaky, too - the main body doesn't seem to be sealed properly so we ended up with carrot juice all over the kitchen counter.

It's impossible to clean, too - though it is supposed to be dishwasher safe - you end up with the stringy pulp stuck absolutely everywhere which is really difficult to get out and as a result you never feel that the unit is clean. So if you haven't used it for a few days it can smell really bad. Overall it's just a poor, poor design and I can't recommend it to anyone. In fact ours like most people with a bad product ended up in the back of the cupboard and when we next have a clear out it will probably end up in the bin!

I wish I could give this less than 1 star out of five as it just doesn't work and was a total waste of money. If you are looking for a juicer my recommendation would be buy one which you can put whole fruit into even if it costs you a bit more, as you will be far more likely to use it. I can't imagine anyone using the Rosemary Conley more than a handful of times as it's just a total hassle.

Would be better off paying a litter bit more money for a much better machine.

This was the first juicer I bought as I was new to juicing and after many different fads I didn't want to spend a fortune on equipment that I would never use, I have been using this Juicer for about six months now and up until recently I was happy with the quality of the juices and enjoying the feeling the juices were giving me. I wasn't enjoying the amount of time involved in preparing the fruit ready for juicing even small things like carrots or celery need to be chopped up prior to putting them in the machine otherwise they get stuck in the chute.
The motor seemed to be working well and as I was new to juicing and unsure of how much fruit was needed to make a glass of juice. I thought it was all fine. Now the worst bit of all was the cleaning, and regardless of following all the tips about using carrier bags to collect the pulp etc. It took ages to take it all apart the pulp ends up everywhere and I needed to use a toothpick to get all the bits out, not to mention a nail brush to scrub the mesh. But I thought it was normal and got on with it. It wasn't until I was around my friends house one day and she made me a juice in her juicer that I noticed just how rubbish my one was. She was putting whole apples in, all the pulp went into a jug so it was just emptied not a toothpick in sight and the amount of juice she got out of the fruit was so much more than I had been getting. I would say it is better to buy a better machine to start off with as you will save the money by not buying as much fruit and vegetables.

          Not a good buy!

This product is dreadful! I was so disappointed when I brought this. It doesn't pulp the fruit properly and is impossible to keep clean. The fruit gets caught up in the mesh and even when I got a toothbrush to it I couldn't get it clean. Also the juice doesn't come out the nozzle properly. It doesn't like doing apples or carrots which I found very annoying. The recipes all looked really nice in the book that comes with it but I just couldn't make half of them as you just get into a complete mess! To make one tiny cup of juice you need about 10 oranges as the machine doesn't seem to squeeze all the juice out of the pulp and this blocks the whole system up. Mine may have had a fault as I could always smell burning when I used it. Sorry but I cannot recommend!
