Advantages: A nice pleasant read

Disadvantages: Seems to end to quickly, needed more.

his book is a good read for quite a wide age range really, although it is aimed at the pre teen/teenage girl market. I do not feel it is a book that boys/men would enjoy however, as it is very much so "chick lit".

I feel that the author didn't quite understand todays teenage girls in some respects, as there were some odd use of language and references that I do not think todays teenager would even say or know about. I say this as the mother of a teenage girl! In some repects there was an air of old fashionedness about it or it could just be the Irishness of it?

As the book title suggests, the feature character is Amy Green, a 13 year old girl entering puberty and all the teenage angst that goes with it, with the added complications of divorced parents and their new partners and new siblings cramping their style. I thoroughly enjoyed Amy's Aunt Clover character and feel she was a great complimentary character to the main.

I feel that the book is written consistently well throughout. It should be commended for its lack of slang, swearing and sex, as to many authors today seem to think it is a nessecity... this book proves otherwise!

On the whole it was a pleasurable read, but I did feel it ended a little to quickly and that it felt rushed and more could have been written to round the story off a bit.

Can be enjoyed by a wide female audience.

Summary: A pleasant quick read
