      Baby Baa Baa book

This is one of my favourite books that I had for my little girl was she was younger to get her interested in reading books and turning the page and looking at images and now I am using it with my little boy to get him excited about books too.

Baby Baa Baa is a small board book with just 7 big thick pages in it but its enough to keep a little one entertained for quite a long while. The book is from DK books and on the back it asks the question, "Where are all the farm toys hiding? Can you find them?"

What I like about this book is that it also has flaps on each page that have a big tab on them which make it really easy for little fingers to pull open the page and discover what is behind the flap. For example on the left hand page we are asked, "Who's behind the red watering can? and then on the front of the flap we see a red watering can and behind this flap we see that it's Fuzzy Duckling and we are told that she has an orange beak. Over time my little girl got to know all the different animals and also a little bit about their character such as the orange beak or the pink piggy who has a round nose and the friendly chicken who has a red ruffle on her head.

This book is great for talking about colours and showing them in bright pictures and also for introducing new animals and their different characteristics.

In my experience small children love looking for things and then when they find them they love getting praise for finding them too so there's a number of different ways that this book can promote fun learning and also positive praise for small children.

At the end of the book it says, "Let's name all the farm animals again," and my daughter had great fun pointing to the different animals as I called out their name.

The book costs £4.99 and in my opinion is a great first book for babies and small children.
