      Ben and Holly fanatic
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      My little girl has become obsessed with the Ben and Holly tv programme in recent months, so it was no surprise that she received a fair few Ben and Holly themed items from Father Christmas a few months back! One of the items that Santa generously left for her in her stocking was this magnet book.
      Who are they?
      ~~~~~~~~~~
      For those who don't know, Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom is a cartoon featuring close friends Ben, an elf, and Holly, a fairy princess. They always get up to all sorts of adventures involving their families and Holly's nanny, Nanny Plum, and pet ladybird Gaston. The cartoon is from the creators of Peppa Pig, so the two shows are similar in some ways, such as the style of the animation and even the voice-overs.

      Onto the book ...

      This hardcover book has ten pages, also made of quite a thick card, and comes complete with some magnets, making it an interactive read. The magnets are stored in a plastic box which is fixed to the lower portion of the book.

      The story on each page tells of Holly's family going on a picnic with Ben the elf. There are a few problems with the food, and the usual jelly flood, which will be familiar to anyone who has seen Ben and Holly!

      Alongside the story, there are some short instructions on each page regarding the magnets - so fro example on one page you are asked to place Ben and Holly on the page to drink their special drinks. So it is more than just a simple story to read - your young one can get involved with what is going on in the story too.

      More magnets!!!
      ~~~~~~~~~~~
      The first thing that really surprised me when we opened this book was just how few magnets were included! In fact there are only seven in total - Ben, Holly, Nanny Plum, Gaston, two ice cream drinks and a picnic bag. I was a little disappointed there weren't a few more included. However, the magnets that are included do seem to be sturdy and well made, and the images perfectly depict the Ben and Holly characters.
      And my little girl hasn't seemed at all bothered by the lack of magnets! She really enjoys this book - which is of course related to the fact that she is such a big fan of the programme. She loves being able to interact with the book and in all honesty isn't that interested in hearing the story - she simply enjoys placing the magnets on the page, and in fact tends to move them around and make up her own games and stories with the magnets on the page.
      One for Ben and Holly fans!
      Overall I would recommend this book for Ben and Holly fans. My daughter really enjoys it and loves interacting with it. It is one of those books that I think will hold her interest for a long while to come and the magnets - even if there aren't many of them - certainly help keep her interested.
      This is currently available on amazon for £2.80, which is definitely less than I ..... errrr or rather Father Christmas paid in December, and at this price I think it is a fantastic buy! Highly recommended.
