      Perfect for a present!

Bobbie Brown goes through her personal story about what she has so far achieved, what and who inspired her written in a unique manner which is sure to gain attention. At the start she mentions about her positives and negative events she went through, and since she is trained in the profession of make up/beauty who the prominent figures of beauty were when she was growing up.

It is aimed primarily at teenagers, however it does consist chapters on young children and it goes through different races and what sort of products, routines and make up they should apply. It does touch subjects such as self confidence, boys and plastic surgery. Although she is doing it in a way which informs girls, in a delicate way.

It offers advice on health, the negatives to smoking and drugs, and it has a lot of pictures which focus on not giving girls a 'make over' yet a 'make under'. It is a great read, and it does not get boring and Bobbie always manages to surprise and is very useful for teenagers who are growing up and are self conscious at hormone riddle ages.

a good read! you'll like it if you like beauty

I don't own this book but I am a bit of a bookworm so I go to the library, and sometimes instead of looking at my usual JK Rowling and co., I went for this instead. And I was pleasantly surprised!

The looks in this book are really natural and beautiful. I used to be into dramatic smokey eyes and huge wings but this book convinced me to tone it down.

This book has lots of credibility. It is by the legendary bobbi brown of whose cosmetics I love when, once in a blue moon someone feels generous and gives some to me for christmas.

The pictures are huge and you can spend ages staring at them, trying to figure out the look was done. It has basic tips on what tools you need, what colours for different skin tones (and races- which is nice because there aren't nearly enough info out there for gals of different races).

It's got really good tips on useful things: like skin care, spots, braces, prom....

Overall I think you should borrow this or maybe even buy it and refer to it, like a beauty bible or something. And although the tips are a bit duumbed down for teenage audiences who know nothing about skincare/cosmetics, the tips are valid and could go for any age group. Because natural is beautiful. There, I've said it.

Well I'm no teenage beauty but when I found a copy of this book in a cut price book store I thought it might be worth reading. Bobbi Brown writes on skin care, haircare, makeup and general body 'maintenance'. There's a useful section on basic skin care and how to tell what type of you skin you have. It also advises what is bewst for each type of complexion. The section on spots and how to cope is quite useful if you are a teenager. Find out how apply makeup so that you look trendy, natural and attractive. (It also goes into the makeup do's and don't's for specific occasions. For example mske up for a club would be different to that worn for work. This book is very basic and it has lots of pictures. I don't think it would be worth paying £15 for ( which is the cover price), but at £5 which is what I paid it's okay. Infact you don't really need your own copy. A quick flick through told me all I wanted to know. Borrow one if you want to read this book!

With Christmas coming up and if you do not know what to buy for a teenage girl, then buy them a Bobbi Brown no nonsense beauty bible titled Bobbi Brown Teenage Beauty. It contains everything you need to know about how to look pretty or natural, it is written for teenagers and gives down to earth advice It gives a back to basics skin care and make-up lessons, and shows you different make-ups for different skin types and for different occasions. I have bought my daughter one, and at only £15 I think she will be pleased with it.
