For your little Charlie and Lola fan

My little girl used to love Charlie and Lola, but what she loved more was sticker books (what is it with little kids and sticker books?!). So this was the perfect present for her when she was 3 and as with all sticker books she couldn't wait to get stuck in and do all the stickers straight away.

We had purchased other sticker book titles from this range and so knew what to expect - some sticker sheets located in the centre pages of the book, a specific storyline and some dialogue to help you know where certain stickers should go. We started by removing the centre sticker sheets and opening them up so that we could see all of the stickers and then working through the book - this one being based on dancing had lots of prop stickers like clogs, flowers, tutus, stars and hoola-hoops!

The general storyline for the book is that Lola wants to try out lots of different forms of dancing that she sees her friends doing, such as tap-dancing and ballet and tries them all out before discovering her own special dance at the end of the book. Each double page spread has a strip which suggests stickers that could be used on that page:

"Lola would like to try lots of different dancing. She might need an especially good Russian hat, some clogs, a tiara and some pretty flowers"

The suggested items are also pictured so that little ones know which stickers they are looking for. In the example that I've given there are some obvious places for the stickers to go, the hat on Lola's head for example, but there is freedom to place the stickers anywhere because there are no greyed out or other highlighted sections which need to be covered up. There are a lot of stickers included - over 100 - and so even after you have gone through the whole story, there are often lots of stickers left which can be used wherever you want in the book or even to make your own picture with. The stickers have a good stick to them and stay stuck to the book, which is much better than some of the cheaper sticker books which seem to have little or no adhesive at all! So annoying to find loads of unstuck stickers all over the floor!

This is a really great sticker book for little girls in particular due to the dancing theme or for any little Charlie and Lola fans. What I really love about these books as a parent is that once all of the stickers have been used, you can still keep the sticker book as a story book (that is if your little ones haven't covered up all of the narrative with their over-enthusiastic sticking!). The stickers are easy to get off the sticker sheets and because of the quantity of stickers included, you really feel like you are getting your monies worth. Even though we are very much in a Disney stage here (groan!), my daughter would still love to receive another of these sticker books, which I think highlights how fun and engaging these are to complete.

Charlie and Lola: My Dancing Sticker Book is available from Amazon for £3.74 at the time of writing.
