The Charlie and Lola sticker book looks a little different from the picture above but is actually the same as the one shown by Amazon. Charlie and Lola are on of my daughters favourite TV programs at the moment so she loves anything to do with them.
This book is 16 pages long and has around 100 stickers at the beginning of the book. The first page gives a little introduction to Charlie and Lola which would be useful to anyone that did not know who the characters were.
The story is about Charlie and Lola deciding they want to have a picnic so discussing what they would want to make it perfect. As they start to prepare for it the weather turns and it starts to rain where Lola thinks there picnic dreams are ruined until her big brother comes to the rescue with a bright idea will the picnic go ahead as planned?
On the margins of each page there also little instructions like Lola also likes pink milk sausage rolls etc so this is where the stickers part of the book becomes involved. The child then looks through the stickers to see which ones they need to add to make the scene up correctly. This happens on each page and once they have followed each instructions there are still many stickers left for the children to add to the pages at there own choice.
Me and my children find this book brilliant. They love being read to but as this book uses stickers to involve the child it is perfect for children that can not yet read to feel involved. It teaches them to follow instructions but at the same time gives them room for free play. We have purchased some other Charlie and Lola sticker books with the hope they will be as big of a hit was this one was.
The book retails at £3.99 but I brought mine from my local pound stretcher for £1.99 so it is worth shopping around although I would also be happy to pay the full retail price for this book as the stickers are reusable so it keeps the child entertained for even longer. We managed to reuse the stickers around 4 to 5 times before they began to curl or rip and became unusable which for me is good value for money. Age recomendation is 3+ due to small parts but my daughter and i got on well with it and she is 20 months so as long as supervision is there it is fine for younger ages.
