My little girl absolutely loves books and our collection is quickly growing. We have favourite stories to read during the daytime, as well as those that are just perfect for bedtime.
One of our favourite bedtime stories is Cuddle by Beth Shoshan. The story is rhyming and flows beautifully and is a joy to read. The book is all about what to cuddle at bedtime. Each page a different animal is chosen and a reason given as to why that would not be a good idea. With lines such as "If I cuddled a gorilla I would end up much thinner, If I cuddled a tiger I'd end up as dinner". Until the final page where the little boy decides to cuddle his teddy bear instead.
This book is beautifully illustrated with each picture clearly depicting the words on the page for example on the page referring to cuddling a tiger and ending up as dinner the picture is of a tiger lifting the lid on a dinner plate which the little boy is sitting on. The writing is quite large so would be quite useful for teaching children to read.
We like to enact the story by including the noises that the animals make, which always makes my daughter giggle and really brings the story to life.
As this is a boardbook it is easy to wipe clean. My daughter especially loves board books as she can easily turn the pages and look at them by herself as well.
This book is widely available from shops and online and currently costs £5.99 on the Amazon website.
Highly recommend this beautiful story for little ones- its just perfect for bedtimes.
