This set is produced by Priddy books. I hadn't really heard of this company until recently but I've ended up with a number of their books lately. They seem to specialise in early learning, and have a large number of wipe clean books. I have found my sons prefer these to paper books and for subjects that will be repeated frequently such as practicing letters or repeating simple maths equations like multiplication and division these really do seem a very green alternative. I originally thought this was one book from the Amazon description, but looking more closely, it does say 3 books. This set includes one wipe clean dinosaur activity book, one ABC colouring book, a sticker activity book, 6 crayons and a dry erase pen. These are all bundled together in a very nice sturdy box with a velcro tap for easy opening and closing. I am not usually much fussed with packaging, but in this case, I feel that this is a good way to keep everything together, especially if you want to take this on trips to keep children busy. I also feel that such nice packaging would make this an ideal children's party gift on a low budget or an ideal set for grandparents to keep at their homes. This sells for £4.80 - £ 5.54 depending on where you buy it. I paid roughly £5 from the Book Depository and would highly recommend this option. Amazon has a 3 week waiting period on these books - with the warning that it could be longer, and I found the lowest priced seller on Amazon very unreliable. This was purchased mainly for the wipe clean book. My youngest has a wipe clean dinosaur ABC book which he really loves and my oldest was dissapointed that they don't have any wipe off dinosaur books for his age. The book in this set has some activities for younger children and some for older children so both children ( ages 4 & 7) can enjoy this. The pages to practice the alphabet ( upper and lower case), numbers 1 -10 and tracing simple words like "big" and "small" are obviously best suited to very young children perhaps 3 -5. The maze and dinosaur drawing pages suit a wider age range I would say 4-8, and the word search is better suited for children who are already reading. This little book is only 12 pages, but it is very nice, and with the inclusion of the dry erase pen, I would say this was very nearly worth the purchase price alone. The next book is called Coloring time Dino A-Z. This has one dinosaur per letter - A-Z with a small full colour picture and one or two simple line drawings for children to colour in. There are two additional two page scenes Jurassic and Cretaceous These are simple, and I can't say that this is anywhere nearly as nice as our Dinosaur ABC Colouring Book by Dover, but the dover book retails at £4.99 alone. This is printed on a thick white paper and I found it a nice addition to the set. This book only uses upper case letters. The final book in this set is a 24 page sticker activity book. There is a wide range of activities, but most of these are activities you will only be able to do once. These include mazes, simple maths, writing practices including dinosaur names, colouring and dot to dots. There are also a couple of very fun activities, like finding two triceratops exactly the same and spotting the differences between pictures. I think this book covers a reasonably wide age range ( 4-8) , with a few activities - like tracing lines which will most appeal to very young children, and the word search being best suited to children who are already reading. My sons opinions: While clearly my youngest will get the most use from this set, my oldest was well pleased as well. He has asked to do the dot to dots and will almost certainly get more use of the colouring book than his brother will. He was also pleased that there were a few activities for him to do in the wipe clean book. He especially liked the drawing dinosaurs pages, but he did enjoy the maze as well. Both boys enjoyed the counting dinosaurs page as well - where you have to see how many of each type of dinosaur you can find, and they have always loved spot the difference pages. Both boys say this should have 5 stars - but my oldest says he wishes they had more dot to dot pages and more drawing pages - and a bit less of the writing practice. My opinion: I feel that this set is very good value for money. I especially like that it teaches both upper case and lower case letters and I feel this is very good set to help my youngest prepare for P-1 next year. He will be home educated, but I do still feel he should have learned some basic skills before beginning formal education. I would very highly recommend this set for parents of children in the foundation stage. this is a lovely way to keep learning fun and encourage children to learn at home as well. Although it is not intended for older children, I feel at this price that this would be a nice item to keep children busy when travelling or visiting and would consider this for any dinosaur mad child up until about age 7. While an older child will not get the full benefit of this set - I feel the colouring books and activity book alone are worth a fiver. As much as my sons enjoys this though, I do think as he is very nearly 8, I would choose another product if I did not have a younger child to use this as well.
