I used this book a couple of years back when i was doing my a-levels and i have to see this book is fantastic. It really helped me in passing. The information is very factual and in chronological chapters, with summary and exam questions at the end of each chapter and exam tips and example essays at the end of the book. There are lots of fun exercises in between the information to break it up slightly as some chapters can get intense, but what else would you expect at a level standard. With the book being written specifically for the Edexcel exam board you know that all the knowledge you are learning is relevant, and your not wasting time learning other sections which are not relevant for the exam. The information is very easy to read and the questions through out are a nice break whilst reinforcing the newly learnt knowledge. It is further broken up with diagrams and images something i found refreshing in comparison to other study books i had for history which were just pages and pages of writing. I would recommend this to anyone who is studying Russian history in AS level as i believe this book is the main reason i passed. It is great value for money, i would not have coped without it.
