Fancy Nancy is a lovely little book for your little fancy Nancy. My daughter was given this book from a cousin in America and I actually hadn't seen this range of books so was pleasantly pleased to receive it. It was actually a bit of a joke as well as my mum is called Nancy so my cousin thought it would be funny for my little girl to have a booked named after her Grandma.
On the inside cover we can read about Nancy. Meet Nancy, who believes that more is ALWAYS better when it comes to being fancy. From the top of her tiara down to her sparkly studded shoes, Nancy is determined to teach her family a thing or two about being fancy. How Nancy transforms her parents and little sister for one enchanted evening makes for a story that is funny and warm - with or without the frills.
It is the illustrations that make this book so wonderful for me, they are one word, fancy! Nancy is a cute little girl with lots of brown curly hair and loves wearing lots of jewellery and high heels. The pictures are great, busy, but at the same time well drawn and very colourful. The text is also in a really nice fancy font so I think that adds to the story too.
It is published by Harper Collins and has an ISBN number of 978-0-06-054209-2.
