My daughter loves a good sticker book and at only a couple of pounds per book they are definitely good value for money and keep her entertained for quite a while.
This sticker book is all about the goings on down on the farm. It is written by Sam Taplin and illustrated by Cecilia Johansson.
My daughter's idea of doing stickers is to stick them all over her face, my face, her brothers face, her toys, anywhere basically except the book that they were intended for. This was a few months ago actually and she is getting better now and wants me to show her where she should place them and where they should go but in this book we have lots of stickers in some random places. What I like about this book though is that although there is a specific page to put the stickers on there is no outline that you need to follow so you can stick it anywhere on the page you wish. This is helpful for my little girl as I will show her the page it's meant to go on and then she can put it where she likes and make up a bit of a story herself. She is really good at sticking stickers down and smoothing them over and the stickers look nice once they are on the page.
I like this book because it has a bit of a story to it rather than just full of only stickers. On each page there is a little narrative about what is happening in this section of the farm. For example on the "Milking time" page it says, "This is where the cows are milked. Find a place for a milk truck and a little calf being fed. Then we see a nice colourful two page spread of a barn with some trees and some cows in a field and all you have to do is add the stickers.
The rest of the chapters are as follows:
1. In the farmyard
2. In the fields
3. Milking time
4. Baby animals
5. In the orchard
6. Harvest Time
7. Night time
8. Animal homes
The stickers are located in the middle of the book. At the top of each page of stickers it will tell you what page those stickers correspond with which I find very helpful. The stickers were easy for my little girl to get out which is nice. I hate stickers that are hard for her to peel off or rip half way through but in this book all the stickers are pretty large and as they all have a little border around the picture they are rounder and do not feature so many sharp points as some other stickers do. My little girl was able to bend the page slightly to get a little bit of one sticker to raise up and then she could peel it off with not too much trouble. The stickers are lovely and colourful and the animals are quite true to life which I like. There's over 150 stickers in this book which I think is a really good number
We've had this book for a few months now. I don't always keep all of my little girls sticker books because quite frankly once the stickers are done they are pretty much finished but we've kept this one for the story and for the fun pictures. All in all a great sticker book.
