This book is a twist on the normal goldilocks tale, with Goldilocks herself having her hair in a 'funky dreadlock style!' It certainly is appealing to kids, as my 18 month old choose it out of a pile of about 10 books to take home on loan. The verses are written in a tongue in cheek way, very much from the bear's point of view, as the naughty Goldilocks crashes through the house and snoops in all the cupboards. Well, I hear you say, everyone knows the story of Goldilocks so why write a review about it? Well, this version by Nick Sharratt and Stephen Tucker gives a slightly different slant on the story, and as you can see from the picture, Goldilocks does not look at all like your typical traditional fairy tale heroine!
