I first hated Harry Potter. All that hype over a stupid little book about some wizard, I mean, who'd want to read abut that? Me, it turned out.

I got my first read of a Harry Potter book on a dark skegness night. My cousin (whom was staying with me) had brought the latest addition to the series (...and the goblet of fire) and I started to read. and I read. And Read. I read until I couldn't read no more. I was just so enthralled with the happenings of this little wizard.

When I got home the first thing I did was buy a copy of the first HP book, Harry Potter and the philosphers stone.

Before I get any futher I should just give you a little dictionary full of Harry related stuff.

Muggle - a normal Human with no magical blood in his body.

The Dursleys - The people Harry lived with until he recieved notification of enrollment at Hogwarts

Lord Voldemort - The Hitler of the wizard world. Is hated by all apart from those close to him. Otherwise known as He-Who-Not-Be-Named.

Hermoine Granger - One of Harry's Best friends who was born to muggle parents but somehow became a wizard.

Ron Weasley - Harry's Best Friend. Is one of a long line of Weasleys.

Draco Malfoy - Harrys enemie.

Hogwarts - The school that they go too

Quidditch - The wizard equivalent to football. Is followed by wizards world-wide.

Albus Dumbledore - The headmaster of the school

Diagon Alley - The wizarding worlds shopping centre

Platform 9 3/4's - the platform to take you to Hogwarts.

Slytherin, Grythindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw - Like house groups. Each student in Hogwarts is put into one.

The story starts with Harry Living at the Dursleys house. Harry is the deeply hated nephew/cousin of the Dursleys.

The Dursleys are :

Mr Dursley : A big
beefy man who has never experienced the privilidge of having a neck.

Mrs Dursley : A tall, blonde woman who looks like shes had her husbands share of the neck.

Dudley Dursley: A big, fat, greedy boy who wants everything.

They make Harry live in the space underneath the stairs and rarely give him a treat. The best birthday present he had eer gotten from them was one of Mr. Dursleys old socks.

When a letter comes through for Harry in the post, Mr. Dursley simply rips it up and throws it in the bin.

Then, mre and more letters keep coming through until Hargrid, the Hogwarts groundkeeper has to come and get him and take him into the wizarding world.

After a long ride and a lot of explaination from Hagrid, they finally arrive at diagon alley to get Harry his wizarding needs.

What will happen in Harry's first year? Action? Adventure? Love? The only way you can find out is tobuy this book!
