Advantages: Cute story; Lovely pictures; Board book so won't get trashed by toddlers

Disadvantages: The weird words don't go as well in the book as they do on tv

When my mate brought my sister a set of In The Night Garden board books for Xmas I kinda rolled my eyes because dontcha know at 2 1/2 she's getting out of the Igglepiggle stage and Peppa Pig is her new idol??? It's the thought that counts though and these books cost a bomb so I was mega pleased that my sister actually loves them even though she shuns her talking Upsy Daisy now! lol

Ooh, Pretty Flower is a book that focuses on Upsy Daisy and other books in the range concentrate on other characters. In her set she also got a Makka Pakka book and an Igglepiggle one.

In this book it tells the story of Igglepiggle going for a ride on the Ninky Nonk but Upsy Daisy doesn't want to go because she wants to stay and look at all the flowers in the garden. Eventually Igglepiggle convinces her to go with him and then shows her a massive flower which is the prettiest in the garden.

It's a proper basic story but just right for keeping my sister interested in the story. It's just like one of the stories that would be on an episode of In The Night Garden, actually reading it rings a bell so it probably is adapted from one of the stories that has already been on tv.

The words in the book are all easy to read so I think this book would be ok for older kids who are learning to read on their own. It probably works better like that because one thing I don't like about this range of books is that mixed in with the proper story are words like 'Daisy Dooooo' and 'Pip Pip Honk Honk' and that looks great in the text but doesn't sound right when you read it out loud.

The pictures are mega cool, they're photographs of the characters and have been picked so that they will pretty much tell the story without you having to read the words every time. I love watching my sister look at this book because she goes through the pictures and tells her own story, her talking is brill for her age so I can understand everything she says and she comes up with some mega imaginative stories!

I deffo recommend this set of books, I don't think any of them are any better than the others but I decided to review this one basically because it's my sisters fave out of the 3 she's got and so it's the one I've read the most.

Summary: Upsy Daisy, Igglepiggle And The Ninky Nonk..... If You Haven't Got Kids That'll Be Foreign To You!
