In The Night Garden With The Tombliboos.

Id expect quite a few of these reviews over the next few days because there are 8 books in the set that we own and I have only reviewed one of them before this so there is a few more to come! Anyway Alfie like most babies his ages is fascinated with all things In The Night Garden whether that be the toys, the TV show or in this case the books that my mom bought for him a few weeks ago from one of her online book clubs. I think these books are a godsend as often when Im looking after Alfie on my own these stories and pictures are the ONLY thing that will keep him quiet so I have to recommend them to everyone!

It doest actually say what age this book is recommended for but I think it would be suitable from birth probably until about 2 as I think that is when kids will start to grow out of this kind of story but for those two years you will get loads of use out of it! This book will cost you around £3.99 from bookstores but can be bought from amazon for as little as 1p.

This story revolves around the "characters" called the Tombliboos and their journey around the garden on the Pinky Ponk. Whilst on the Ninky Nonk they all have a drink but Tombliboo Ooo drinks everyones juice and ends up with a very poorly tummy and the rest of the book shows the ways that the other two Tombliboos's Eee & Unn try to make him feel better. There are also little appearances from other characters like Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy so it connects quite well with the way the stories are told on TV.

The books are actually laid out a lot like the TV show so its very easy to understand for babies. They still have songs, talk utter gibberish (well thats what it sounds like anyway) have a recap story at the end and then you sya goodnight to everyone so the layout is very similar. There are really colourful pictures and images of the characters on every page and the pages and writing is all in bright, contrasting colours so they will certainly attract and keep a babies attention. My mom is reading this book to Alfie as Im writing this and he is being totally quiet and then laughing at the pictures so if you have a 5 month old I know for a fact they will love this one.

The story is very simple but as long as it keeps their focus it doesnt need to be very long and complicated and according to my mom this particular story teaches kids to share their things and how to act in group situations. I dont get that but if it does then thats a greta life lesson in a simple book that they will love. Highly recommended especially if your child loves the TV show as much as Alfie.

      Thanks For Reading
