Advantages: Chunky book, nice textures and rhymes
Disadvantages: none
My daughter was bought this book as a present when she was 3 months old, it is a lovely chunky hardboard book with 10 pages and a different teddy with different texture on each, 5 in total. The front cover has a traditional teddy with fur on it, on the inside there is a teddy with brown fluff, one with furry black ears, another with a shiny raincoat, soft padded paws and a silky bow to feel, each on a different page. With each bear is a couple of lines about the bear, a description of what he has and the texture of it in rhyming text. It is a lovely book to read and my daughter adores it being read to her, she loves to reach and feel all of the textures and turns the pages.
When she has the book on her own it keeps her amused for ages, she will sit and turn the pages over and the book upside down to feel the bears, always going back to her favourite two; the one on the front and one on the first page. She kisses them and feels the fur on her face, it makes her smile looking at all the different bears, the book has lovely bright colours throughout but is simple so that it catches the babies attention.
Now that i can see how much my daughter loves this book i will look for other touch and feel books in the range as i feel these will be great to have. The books are of a good sturdy quality and will last a long time, it is one of the few things my daughter doesn't try to chew because i think it's such a lovely book and she's more captured by what's in it than what it tastes like.
Summary: A lovely first textured book for babies to feel and be read to
