Little Miss Lucky is the 16th Little Miss book. Roger Hargreaves created the Mr Men in 1971. Ten years later, he created the Little Misses as well, off the back of the success of the Mr Men. They are lovely books, which I enjoyed when I was a kid. My son prefers the Mr Men books as he can relate to them more being a male, but they're still very good.

Little Miss Lucky is round and pink, with a cloth hat that is checkered. In the story, you really do wonder why she is called Little Miss Lucky. She wakes up one night, thinking she has heard something outside, but when she goes outside, a gust of wind locks her out of her house! What will happen next? And do we get to see why Little Miss Lucky is lucky?

This is a rather strange story, but I guess Hargreaves was trying to imagine a situation where luck would be involved. The story is nice, and it also goes to show that even something that at first seems as if it is not lucky may turn out to be after all! The illustrations are very colourful and vibrant and are on the right hand pages in the book, and the writing is on the left hand pages. This is in keeping with the layout of the Mr Men books.

The Little Miss books retail for £2.50 each, but amazon.co.uk are currently selling them for £2.25. I recommend the Little Miss books as well as the Mr Men books.
