Jayden has a large collection of books in just a year but when I saw the Disney Mickey Mouse Clubhouse How Many Animals? book I just had to get it. Jayden loves the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse TV programme and dances as soon as the music comes on so I knew that he would love the book as well. The Book The Disney Mickey Mouse Clubhouse How Many Animals? book is a square shaped board book, the pages of the book are not as thick as some of the board books that I have bought Jayden in the past, however this is not a problem and the pages and covers are still reasonably strong and sturdy, they are not easy for Jayden to bend and damage. The front cover has the words Disney Mickey Mouse Clubhouse at the top and "How Many Animals?" written at the bottom, all of this is in bright multi coloured writing making it stand out against the blue background. The rest of the front cover is taken up with a large picture of Mickey Mouse with Baby Red Bird sitting on his head (another character from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) The back of the book is the same blue colour, again it has the name of the book written in multi coloured writing and a sentence about the book written just below this. There is also a picture of Goofy counting some bees on the back of the book. The cover of the book is very bright and colourful before you have even started reading the contents so it will catch your child's attention. The book contains 6 pages including the front and back cover so it is an ideal length for a child to read to have read to them without them getting bored. The Story The Mickey House Clubhouse How Many Animals? book basically contains various characters from the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse who find and count different animals that they have found in and around the clubhouse. The book counts up to 5 with a different number, character and animal on each page. On each page there is a small sentence that asks the question many animals are there, beneath this it then gives you the answer, each sentence also rhymes. Beneath each sentence is a large number, all of this writing is in black and of a decent size so that it is easy and clear for children to read. What I particularly liked about this book is that it teaches your child a range of things including numbers/ counting, animals and even colours, this is on top of helping your child develop their reading skills. Whilst Jayden is very young and has no concept of numbers and reading, I do feel that it is important to introduce your child to reading and learning from a young age, it is never to early to learn new things and even very young children are absorbing information all of the time. The Pictures The pictures in this book are extremely bright and colourful and will definitely catch your child's attention, each picture has a bright coloured background with Mickey Mouse's head on it. On each page there is a different Mickey Mouse Clubhouse character, these include Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, each character is then surrounded by a different number of animals for you to count with your child. The pictures are large and generally cover a double page, but at the same time are simple and uncluttered making them simple for your child to understand. Price and Availability The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse How Many Animals? book is available from various places including Amazon and ebay, however I purchased our copy of the book from our local Pound Store obviously being sold for just £1.00. Personally I think this is excellent value and in my opinion it is well worth the money, I would be happy to pay full price for the book, however I would prefer to buy the book for the price I paid for it. My Opinion Since we bought the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse How Many Animals? book we have read it many times, Jayden is a bit young to understand numbers and reading, however he does enjoy sitting down and listening to me reading to him whilst looking at the pictures and touching them. He really seems to enjoy this book and loves the brightly coloured pictures and will spend ages going backwards and forwards through the pages looking at them. The book is of a good quality, it is strong and sturdy and in my opinion definitely worth the money, it is a book that your child will enjoy and will also learn from teaching them colours, numbers and animals. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone with a young child and would buy others within the range if I came across any.
