This paperback story wrote by Neal Layton and published in 2002 by Hodder Childrens Books is great for a quick bedtime read.
The story is based on two wooly mammoth's names Oscar and Arabella and their adventures. I would say this story is very simple to understand and therewould would be good for all ages.
Each page has large colourfull illustrations of the adventures that they gone up to, they include: snacking on leaves and berries, painting pictures, exploring, making friends and much much more. As the words on the pages are in quite large text its great for young boys and girls to read. The largest word in the book is probably "adventures" - just to give you an idea.
The story line, I find quite boring, it doesn't really teach or mean anything to me personally. My child doesn't seem to get overly excited reading this story and is more interested in the pictures.
The book can be purchased from most book stores for only a few piounds. The RRP is £5.99, you can probably purchase from a local book store for less than half of this.
Oscar & Arabella
This story is based on two woolly mammoths and there adventures together, the idea is that they like to do things , but not for too long. The story is fairly short and is a great length for a small child or for one which a very short attention span.
The book I have got is in soft back however I do believe you would be able to get this in hardback also. The book itself is purple in colour and has an image of Oscar and Arabella on the front.
Throughout the book there are lots of pictures, and plenty of images to keep them entertained. You can point out both of the mammoths and explain exactly what they are doing as the images follow the story.
The writing within the story is quite largw and the words are pretty simple to say. The longest word in the book is probably adventures.
Overall this is a really good book, and retails at arounf 5pounds. I, on the other hand purchased mine from Tesco for around 2 pounds.
