Excellent book, one of my sons favourite

I got this book for Christmas last year for my son who was 7 months old at the time. I paid £4 for it in Sainsburys, and I hadn't heard of this series before until I looked up more books by this author after seeing how much my son loved this one. There is a whole series of these books, my son has got two of them, and I do plan on getting him some more as he loves them!

That's not my panda is a touchy feely book for babies. There is a bit of a storyline to it, if you look at the pictures there is a little mouse who seems to be looking for his panda, and on each page he shouts, "that's not my panda", and then on each page explains why he knows it isn't, and points out the touchy feely part on the page. For example one page says, "That's not my panda, it's paws are too rough!" On the paws is a velcro material for babies to touch and this is my sons favourite page, he just loves scratching his nails on it! My son is now 18 months old and goes straight to the parts you can touch, he can clearly see them as different on the pages, and spends ages feeling them. There are smooth parts, bumpy parts, fluffy parts for him to touch and his loves them all.

This book is great a getting your little one to discover different textures, my son takes this book with him everywhere, but he does still chew it at the sides and corners and the cardboard does break off, so watch them chewing this book! My son has no problems turning the pages himself now, and I can't wait until he can read it himself, he loves it being read to him! Each page is really bold and bright coloured, and very eye catching, and the pictures and simple to look at. It is nice and short, and keeps my sons attention for ages. I would definitely recommend this book, and others in the series, they are lovely, and worth every penny!

A lovely book from Usbornes touchy feely series!

This is another of the series of Fiona Watt's & Rachel Well's touchy feely Thats not my... books.
My sister got this for Tyler and I knew he'd like it as we already had one of their books. He is 2 and a half now but he got the last book when he was 1 and enjoyed it then just as much as now.
I would say the book definitly grows with your child, from a young age they can listen and touch, as they get older they can point out things on the page, they can begin to join in with the repetition and older still they can talk about the textures.
The story starts on the front page, there are 5 scenes where it explains why its not "my panda" with touchy feely parts such as a bumpy nose or smooth tongue then at the end it says "Thats my panda its tummy is so soft".
There is a mouse on each page, so we often make a game as we read it to "spot the mouse".
We often have this story on the little pile in his room that we use for bedtime stories and if its available its usually his first choice. Now he's older he likes to enjoy telling me the story from memory aswell.
Its not a long winded story so its easy to keep younger ones attention.

You can get these on Amazon for £4.50 new, used ones go cheaper but price of packaging usually means you're not making huge savings!

I'd definitly reccomend these for their longetivity and they're from a series of books so you can buy a range of them to enjoy.
