Walt Disney's The Penguin That Hated the Cold

Premium Review "The Cold Blooded Penguin" (367 words)
by broxi3781 - written on 23/06/10 (Very useful, 82 readings)
Rating:

Ages 2 -10 I am reviewing this book because I know another reviewer here likes penguin books too! It is a bit hard to come by, but well worth watching out for with Amazon and ebay, as it is one of the best penguin stories ever. The Penguin Who Hated the Cold is based on the Disney short "The Cold Blooded Penguin". Poor Pablo lives at the South Pole, but unlike the other penguins who love the snow and ice, Pablo sits huddled in front of his trusty woodstove, dreaming of warmer climates. At last he decides the South Pole just sint for him and sets off in search of a warmer home. Unfortunatley he doesnt get very far, and his friends must rescue him and ...

The Lion King - Walt Disney

Premium Review Just like the film! (543 words)
by taramorg23 - written on 23/05/12 (Very useful, 10 readings)

When I was a child I had several of these Disney books that my mum had collected from a book club for me. Unfortunately I don't know what happened to the books. When my daughter was born I saw a leaflet in my Bounty pack I was given at hospital saying that you could have 6 books for free and then each month you would be sent 2 books which you could then decide to keep or send back. I love reading and my daughter is also a huge book fan so I wanted to collect as many books as possible for her. The books cost £8.98 per month for 2 books. The Lion King is one of my daughters favourite Disney films. She has really taken a shine to lions and it was the first animal noise that she ...

The Lion King - Walt Disney

Premium Review A fun book for children of all ages. (404 words)
by cpj1987 - written on 03/04/10 (Very useful, 30 readings)
Rating:

As someone who works with children a lot, and as the elder sister of a young boy myself, I consider this version of The Lion King story to be a core product in my childcare collection. Disney release books to suit almost all of their films. I remember having a whole collection myself as a young child, telling stories including Bambi, Dumbo and Pinocchio. I loved them. Some told the story true to the film, others told new stories relating to favourite characters (one told of Pinocchio taking a trip to a sweet shop and spending Gepetto's bread money on a big bag of sweets), and all were collectibles that stuck in my mind for years. Fast-forward fifteen years, and Disney ...
