Just when it looked as if it was going swimmingly, along comes a stinker. Let me explain. In the series of books featuring the Hardy Boys, there was a string of them around about volume 40 where the books were disappointing to say the least. The plots were lacklustre and the characterisation virtually nonexistent. Then the quality rose a little bit and there were a string of books which were believable and well written. Sadly, the quality has dropped again for this book. The Hardy Boys are teenage brothers Frank and Joe Hardy.
