      Very helpful

This is a book you won't want to put down

The Secret Hour by Scott Westerfeld is the first of three books from the midnighters series and is certainly worth reading.

The story is set in a small town called Bixby where many strange things happen. As you continue reading you find out more and more about a small group of people and their lives. This small group call themselves the midnighters and each one has a special ability. The book starts when a girl and her family move to the town and strange things start to happen.

She becomes part of the group where she finds out that every night at midnight time freezes and only they can move around. Of course things are never quite that simple. The group have to deal with creatures who only appear during this time. As the series goes on you learn more about the history of this midnight hour, the town and the characters.

I could go into more detail on the midnight hour and it's characters, but it would spoil the story. Everything is described well and it goes into depth - you feel you know the town and it's secrets and the characters too. However, focus on the plot and what is going on is never lost and you find yourself wondering what will happen next.

This book is full of twists and turns and a world you just want to learn more about. This book is a must read for any fantasy/supernatural readers. The other two books in the series follow on from the first and do not disappoint.
