      Advantages

      Disadvantages

great value book that is well designed for children to red and enjoy whilst learning things in a fun

This is a book from the Usbourne Publishing house for children.

The book is Written and designed by Sam Taplin and Stephanie Jones. The Illustrated by Masumi Furukawa.

As with all Usbourne touchy feely books the Cover also has elements for the children to touch and feel in this case the Monsters fluffy ears and fuzzy tummy.

This is an Usbourne noisy touchy feely book and through out the book again from the cover onwards there is a button for the children to press when in the story the words are "he says roar" the noise is a great big roar which my son loves trying to copy as we read the book.

Over the course of 4 double pages you gradually build up the touchy feely elements of the monster including his fuzzy ears, shinny squashy nose, fluffy tail and soft fuzzy tummy. What I like about this as you turn each page rather than losing the touchy feely bit from the last page you actually keep this and add to the monster. On each double page there is a short sentence about what the monster does with that part of his body eg "He likes to smell stinky things and sniff out fishy snacks" ending with the noise element, "and he says Roar"

On the fifth double page you have the full touchy feely monster and the page sums up all the touchy feely parts of the body.

The illustration's are lovely and bright and cheerful with the monster looking cute and smiley rather than scary.

The cardboard which the book is made of is very substantial and we have had no problems with the edges and corners breaking from my sons rough handling of the book.

He enjoys reading this book either with us reading it too him or him turning the pages himself and pressing the button for the roar as he sits and reads it alone.

i think its a great book for helping children identify parts of the body and what they do in a fun way. Though how many of our little monsters have tails I am not sure!

The Book price is £8.99 though Amazon are currently selling it for £6.74

Also in this series of books there is This is my puppy, This is my kitten and This is my duck.

I think this is a great value book that is well designed for children to red and enjoy whilst learning things in a fun way
